WHEREAS on the 26th December, 1876, the body
of a European female child was found on the
beach at Orakei, washed up by the tide, and enclosed
in an old piece of calico and a common Maori kit,
and, at an inquest held on the 6th instant to inquire
into the cause of the death of the said infant, a ver-
dict of Wilful Murder was returned against some person
unknown: This is to notify, that a Reward of Fifty
Pounds will be paid by the Government of the
Colony to any person who shall give such informa-
