necessary to explain the said line and the land through
which the same passes, and such maps and plans shall
be referred to in any such Proclamation: And whereas
the railway from Amberley to the Bluff is one of the
railways specified in the said Fourth Schedule, and the
same is unfinished, and it has been determined to
construct and maintain a further portion of such rail-
way :
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred on me by “The
Public Works Act, 1876,” and in exercise of every
other power and authority enabling me in that be-
half, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle
line of the said further portion of the said railway
shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule
hereto, and that the two termini of the said line shall
be the western boundary of Section No. 58, and the
western boundary of public road adjoining Section
34, all within Block VII., Waipahi District, Pro-
vincial District of Otago. The said middle line and
the land through which the same passes are set forth
in the map and plan marked P.W.D. 5810, and
authenticated for the purposes of this Proclamation
by the signature of the Honorable John Davies
Ormond, Minister for Public Works, and which said
map and plan is deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the western boundary of
Section 58, and proceeding thence generally in a south-
easterly, easterly, and north-easterly direction for 85
chains or thereabouts, and passing in, through, or over
the following lands—namely, Section 58, Railway
Reserve, Section 57, and Railway Reserve, and ter-
minating at a point situate on the western boundary
of public road forming the eastern boundary of
Section 34, said sections and reserve all being within
Block VII., Waipahi District, Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, in the manner delineated on the map
and plan marked P.W.D. 5810, signed by the Honor-
able John Davies Ormond, Minister for Public
Works, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Dunedin, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, the total length being 85 chains or
thereabouts.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Commander of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand and its Depen-
dencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this fourth day of August,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-seven.

PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by “The Canterbury Domains Act, 1872,”
and “The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,” I, George
Augustus Constantine Marquis of Normanby, Go-
vernor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
revoke the delegation in respect of the land described
in the Schedule hereto made by the Superintendent
of Canterbury, by Proclamation, dated the first day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three,
and published in the Canterbury Provincial Gazette
of the first of July, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three, Volume XX., No. 30, in favour of
the persons named therein; and I do hereby delegate,
in respect of such lands, all the powers conferred on
the Superintendent of Canterbury by the said “Can-
terbury Domains Act, 1872,” and now vested in me,
to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as
the Kaiapoi Domain Board :—

JOSEPH LOWTHIAN WILSON,
ROBERT COUP,
GEORGE HERBERT WARING ;
subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained.

The Board shall meet at such times and places as
shall be from time to time appointed by the Chair-
man, or when it shall be convened by him; and the
business shall be conducted under such regulations
as shall be determined on by the Board. -
The Board shall keep proper minutes and
records of its proceedings, and full accounts of its
receipts and expenditure; and a yearly statement of
the same, together with a general report of its pro-
ceedings, shall be forwarded to the Colonial Secre-
tary once in every year. -
This delegation of powers to the Board shall
not in any way affect any lease or contract now in
force between the Superintendent and any person or
persons in respect of any portion of the Reserve
numbered 74 (in red) in the Schedule to “The
Public Domains Ordinance, 1873,” nor any agree-
ment between the Superintendent and any person or
persons in respect of the dedication of any portion of
the said lands to any purpose of public recreation or
amusement. -
All by-laws, rules, and regulations in force at
the time of this revocation shall, notwithstanding
such revocation, remain in force.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land situated in the Mandeville
District, in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
containing fifteen acres thirty-two perches, more or
less, commencing at a point on the North Road, the
same being the north-west corner of Section No.
338 E., following along the said road in a northerly
direction a distance of nineteen chains, and running
back easterly a distance of eight chains in a rectan-
gular block, and numbered 74, in red, on the map of
the Chief Surveyor of the Provincial District of Can-
terbury, setting out and describing the rural land in
the Mandeville District aforesaid.
