Lands declared to be Waste Lands of the Crown in
the Land District of Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of "The Waste
Lands Administration Act, 1876," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, by Pro-
clamation in the New Zealand Gazette, proclaim the
confiscated lands within any land district to be waste
lands of the Crown: And whereas the lands de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto are confiscated lands
within the Land District of Taranaki, and it is expe-
dient that such lands should be proclaimed waste
lands of the Crown:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the said four-
teenth section, do hereby proclaim and declare the
lands described in the Schedule hereto to be waste
lands of the Crown.
SCHEDULE.
PUKEMAHOE.
ALL that block of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki known by the name of Pukemahoe, contain-
ing by estimation one thousand (1,000) acres, or
thereabouts, and bounded as follows:-Commencing
at the mouth of the Mangapureo Stream, where it
joins the Waitara River, thence up a ridge continu-
ing on to Ratawaero, thence to Kaimiko, thence fol-
lowing the boundary of the Waitara-Taramouku
Block to the Kairoa Stream, turning here to the
East, and following that stream till it falls into the
Waitara River, afterwards following the course of the
said river in its windings on to Mangapureo afore-
said. Excepting out of the hereinbefore described
area a Native burial-ground at Pohohitoa containing
one (1) acre, or thereabouts.
RUAPEKAPEKA.
All that block of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki known by the name of Ruapekapeka, con-
taining by estimation four hundred (400) acres, or
thereabouts, and bounded as follows:-Commencing
at the mouth of the Mangomoeahu River, where it
joins the Waitara River at Kopua, following the side
of the Waitara River to Aupapa, turning here and
going up a ridge on to Ruapekapeka, turning here
to the North, and going on, and then turning to the
East, and going on to Tautari, then turning to the
North, and going on to Te Kawau, then turning to
the East, and going on and following the survey line
in its windings to Poukaikatoa, turning here to the
South, and running along the boundary line of the
Waitara-Taramouku Block to the Mangamoeahu
River at Pakaitangata, turning here and following the
course of the Mangamoeahu River to its mouth, the
point of commencement.
TE WERA.
All that block of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, known by the name of Te Wera, contain-
ing by estimation six thousand three hundred and
twenty (6,320) acres, or thereabouts. Bounded on
the North by the Waitara River, commencing at its
junction with the Mangaoapa Stream; on the West
by the Waitara River to its junction with the
Makauhau Stream, thence by the Huiroa Block to
Upokotoia; on the South by an irregular line run-
ning from Upokotoia eastward, crossing the Makuri
River; and on the East by an irregular line running
northward to Te Wera, thence to the Mangaoapa
Stream, following the course of said stream to its
junction with the Waitara River. Excepting out of
the hereinbefore described area a Native reserve at
Mongaoapa containing fifty (50) acres, or there-
abouts.
HUIROA.
All that block of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by estimation twenty-five
thousand three hundred (25,300) acres, or there-
abouts. Bounded on the North by the Waitara
River from its junction with the Makauhou Stream
to Puketutu; on the West by the Manganui Block;
on the South by an irregular line running from
Tukarokaro to the Mako Stream, thence by the Mako
Stream to its junction with the Makino River, thence
by the Makino River to its junction with the Ahuroa
Stream, thence by an irregular line to Upokotoia;
on the East by the Te Wera Block. Excepting out of
the hereinbefore described area a Native reserve at
Te Kawau containing one thousand (1,000) acres, a
Native burial-ground at Makino containing about
one (1) rood, and a burial-ground at Makauhou,
sufficient to include the graves of Native chiefs.
OTOIA.
All that block of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki known by the name of Otoia, containing by
estimation two thousand six hundred and sixty (2,660)
acres, or thereabouts, and bounded as follows:-
Commencing at a point on the Patea River near the
Ngakotana Stream, thence up the Patea River to
Kakapirau, thence up a spur and along a survey line
to a point in the Taranaki Stream, thence by the sur-
vey lines, crossing the Teahitakawai and the Ohah
Streams to the Te Ngawhakaruru Stream, thence
crossing the Otakaiti Stream to the Tumutu Stream,
thence to the Karewarewa Stream, thence to a
stream which is followed for some distance, thence to
the Pukerata Stream, which is also followed for a
short distance, and then crossed, thence to a point in
