Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the hereinbefore
in part recited Acts, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the lands set forth in the said map so deposited
as aforesaid have been taken or acquired for the pur-
poses of the hereinbefore mentioned portion of the
said line of railway from Wellington to Masterton,
which said railway is, by "The Railways Act, 1871,"
and "The Railways Act, 1872," authorized to be
constructed and maintained under the provisions of
"The Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870,"
and the several Acts amending the same: And in
further pursuance and exercise of the said power and
authority, I do hereby proclaim and declare that the
lands intended to be affected by this Proclamation
are described and delineated in the said map so de-
posited as aforesaid.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington,
this thirtieth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
first day of August, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in him by the three hundred and
fiftieth section of "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," and upon the request of the Borough of
Lyttelton, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby order that
the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
and the same is hereby reserved out of the waste
lands of the Provincial District of Canterbury for
the purpose of granting the same to the Corporation
of the Borough of Lyttelton.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, in the County of Selwyn, containing
by admeasurement two hundred and ninety-nine
(299) acres, more or less, being Section numbered
two thousand one hundred and ninety-four (2194)
(in red). Bounded towards the North by Section
numbered 28051 seven thousand three hundred
(7300) links; towards the North-east by a road line
six hundred (600) links; towards the East by Crown
lands three thousand eight hundred (3800) links;
towards the South by the Waimakariri and Bealey's
Road seven thousand (7000) links; and towards the
West by Section No. 26492 four thousand one
hundred (4100) links, be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less, as the same is delineated on the plans
deposited in the Provincial Survey Office, Christ-
church.

Order in Council altering Sittings of Supreme Court
at New Plymouth.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this
first day of August, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand intituled "The Supreme
Court Act, 1860," it is provided that there shall be
held Circuit Courts for the despatch of civil and
criminal business of the Court, before one of the
Judges thereof, at such places and times as the
Governor in Council may from time to time appoint:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, doth hereby fix and appoint
that Circuit Courts for the despatch of civil and
criminal business of the Supreme Court shall be
held in the Resident Magistrate's Court House at
New Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki, in the
Northern Judicial District of the Colony, on the
first Monday in each of the months of May and
November in each and every year, or so soon after
as may be convenient: Provided that if and when-
ever any of the days hereby appointed for holding a
Circuit Court shall happen to be a holiday of the
Supreme Court, then the Circuit Court appointed to
be holden on such day shall be holden on the first
day thereafter not being such holiday.

Reservation of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested in this behalf by the Canterbury Land
Regulations, and "The Waste Lands Administra-
tion Act, 1876," I hereby reserve the land in the
Provincial District of Canterbury, the boundaries
whereof are described in the Schedule hereunto
annexed, and for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement one hundred and
forty seven (147) acres, more or less, being Section
numbered two thousand two hundred and seventeen
(2217) (in red), situated in the Malvern District.
Bounded towards the North by Section numbered
eighteen thousand one hundred and sixty-four
(18164) for a distance of about five (5) chains,
also by a road line for a distance of about forty-
