situate in the Ashburton District (Mount Somers
Road District), being bounded on the North-east
by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of
Section 23547; on the South-east by the road run-
ning between Sections 14751 and 14931, and also by
Sections 23512 and 23482; on the South-west by
Sections 23512, 23482, 14751, and by the north
branch of the River Ashburton; and on the North-
west by a line at right angles to the first-mentioned
road, to include the required quantity. For educa-
tional purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement five
hundred (500) acres, more or less, being Section
numbered two thousand and ten (2010) (in red),
situate in the Ashburton District (Mount Somers
Road District), being a rectangular block having a
frontage of 79 chains 38 links on the road forming
the north-eastern boundary of Section 23547, and
extending in a north-easterly direction 63 chains, its
southernmost corner being in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Section 14751. For educational
purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement one
thousand (1,000) acres, more or less, being Section
numbered two thousand and eleven (2011) (in red),
situate in the Waipara District (Waipara Road
District). Bounded on the Northward by I.P.R.B.
on Run No. 694, Class 3, and a line in continuation
of the southern boundary thereof; on the Westward
by the River Waipara; on the Eastward by Section
23643 and a line in continuation of the western
boundary of that section; and on the Southward by
a line at right angles to the eastern boundary, to
include the required quantity. For educational
purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement five
(5) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being Section
numbered two thousand one hundred and twenty-six
(2126) (in red), situate in the Timaru District.
Bounded on the Eastward by Reserve 1367 (in red);
on the South-eastward by the road forming the
south-west boundary of Section 1933; and on the
Northward by a line in continuation of the northern
boundary of said Reserve 1367 (in red). For a site
for a school.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-

Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New

Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Ma-
jesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House,
at Wellington, this thirtieth day of July,
in the year of our Lord one thousand

Mount Hutt and Acton Road Districts, constituted
under "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance, 1872."

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in-
me by "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance,
1872," and "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Nor-
manby, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the
twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-seven, the portion of the South Rakaia
Road District described in the First Schedule hereto
shall be severed from the said South Rakaia Road
District, and shall be constituted a new district
under the said "Canterbury Roads Ordinance, 1872,"
under the name of the Mount Hutt Road District;
and that the remaining portion of the said South
Rakaia Road District, described in the Second Sche-
dule hereto, shall be deemed to be a new district
under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and shall
be known by the name of the Acton Road District.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
MOUNT HUTT ROAD DISTRICT
Is bounded towards the North-east by the Lake
Coleridge and Rakaia Road Districts; towards the
South-east by the Great Southern Railway line to
the southern boundary of Run No. 91, thence
westerly along that boundary to Run No. 118, thence
along the eastern and southern boundaries of Run
No. 118, thence northerly along the western boundary
of that run to Run No. 117, thence westerly along
the southern boundary of Runs 117, 739, and 199, to
the north-west corner of Run 106, thence southerly
along the western boundary of that run to the north
branch of the River Ashburton, thence along that
river to Run 502, and along the southern boundaries
of Runs 502, 466, 352, and the western boundary of
Run 352, to the Lake Coleridge Road District.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ACTON ROAD DISTRICT
Is bounded towards the North-east by the Rakaia
and Ellesmere Road Districts; towards the South-east
by the sea; towards the South-west by the south-
western boundary lines of Runs numbered 129 and
90; and towards the West by part of the western
boundary of Run No. 90, and the Mount Hutt Road
District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
