Trustee under "The Oamaru Racecourse Reserve
Management Ordinance, 1870," appointed.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Province of
Otago intituled "The Oamaru Racecourse
Reserve Management Ordinance, 1870," the Honor-
able Henry John Miller, of Oamaru, Runholder, and
others, were appointed a corporate body by the
name and style of the "Trustees of the Oamaru
Racecourse:" And whereas the said Henry John
Miller has been absent from the colony for the space
of six calendar months:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the said Ordinance and by "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," do hereby appoint the
Honorable ROBERT CAMPBELL,
of Oamaru, to be a permanent trustee and member
of the said body corporate, in the place and stead of
the said Honorable Henry John Miller.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; at the Go-
vernment House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.

Waikohu Highway District constituted.
NORMANBY, Governor.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me
vested by the seventh section of "The (Auck-
land) Highways Act, 1874," and "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," I do hereby notify that, from
and after the date hereof, all that portion of the
Provincial District of Auckland hereunder described
shall be a district under the said " (Auckland) High-
ways Act, 1874;" and that such district shall be
known by the name of
THE WAIKOHU HIGHWAY DISTRICT,
the boundaries whereof are as follows:βBounded
towards the North by Native lands, the Uruko-
komoko and the Mangatu Streams, and the Wai-
paoa River; on the East by the Waipaoa River; on
the South by the Whakaahu Creek, the Wakaka-
riki Creek, Γkahuatiu No 2 Block, and the Whare-
kopae Stream; on the West by Native lands, the
Hihiroa Stream, the Waikohu-Matawai Block, the
Waikohu River and the Rangariri River, to the
edge of the bush, and thence by a right line due
north to the northern boundary.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twelfth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.

approved.

to approve the appointment by the Karangahape
Highway District Board of
JAMES PHELAN,
as Keeper of the Public Pound, Gundry Street and
Lichfield Street, Newton.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me
vested by the eighth section of "The (Auck-
land) Highways Act, 1874," and "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," I do hereby bring "The
(Auckland) Highways Act, 1874," into operation
within the
WAIKOHU HIGHWAY DISTRICT;
and I do hereby appoint the first meeting of rate-
payers to take place at the residence of Mr. Massey
Hutchinson, at Waikohu, Poverty Bay, on Friday,
the third day of August next, at two o'clock in the
afternoon, and Mr. Massey Hutchinson to be Chair-
man of such meeting.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twelfth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.

Fixing Fee for License to Kill Game.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased, in
pursuance of the seventeenth section of "The
Protection of Animals Act, 1873," to fix the fee pay-
able for a license to course hares within the Provincial
District of Canterbury, during the season of 1877, at
five shillings for each such license.
