  • The candidate whose name is marked with an * passed in accordance with the following proviso to clause 9 of the
    Regulations: "But in respect of Cadets in the Engineer's branch of the Public Works Department, Plane Trigonometry may
    be substituted for Latin as a compulsory subject; but any candidate availing himself of the exception will not be considered as
    having passed the Senior Examination in respect of the other branches of the service."
