Revoking appointments made under "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875."
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by separate warrants under the hand
of His Excellency the Governor, dated re-
spectively the first day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-six, by certain other
separate warrants, also under the hand of His
Excellency, dated the thirteenth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven,
made in pursuance of "The Abolition of Pro-
vinces Act, 1875," the several persons whose names
are set forth in the Schedule hereto were appointed
to perform the duties and exercise the powers within
the provincial districts set opposite the name of each
person respectively in the said Schedule, which might,
if such duties and powers had to be performed and
executed within the respective provinces hitherto
designated by the names of the said provincial dis-
tricts, be performed or exercised by the Superin-
tendents thereof: And whereas by certain other
warrants bearing date respectively the said first
day of November, and the said thirteenth day of
January, the Governor appointed the persons
whose names are set forth in the said Schedule,
within the provincial districts set opposite the name
of each such person to perform and exercise all
powers, duties, and functions which immediately
before the abolition of the provinces were vested in
or to be performed by the Provincial Treasurer,
Provincial Secretary, or other public officer of the
respective provinces so designated as aforesaid:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke such appoint-
ments.
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by virtue of the powers and autho-
rities vested in me by "The Abolition of Provinces
Act, 1875," and of every other power and authority
in that behalf me thereunto enabling, do hereby
revoke each and every of the appointments so made
as aforesaid.

Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of June, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

Canterbury.

IN pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested in this behalf by the Canterbury Land
Regulations and "The Waste Lands Administration
Act, 1876," I hereby reserve the land in the Provin-
cial District of Canterbury described in the Schedule
hereunto annexed, and for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement five
(5) acres, more or less, being Section No. 2183 (in
red), situate in the Malvern District. Bounded on
the Northward by road forming the northern bound-
ary of Section No. 27497; on the Eastward by
Section No. 27497; and on the South-westward by the
continuation of the terrace forming the south-west
boundary of Section No. 23784. For a gravel pit.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.

Setting apart Lands in Otago for the purpose of
granting Agricultural Leases thereon.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by section thirty-three of "The Gold
Fields Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands situate
within a gold field to be selected and set apart for
the purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon
and therefor: Provided that the extent of land which
may be so selected upon any run which at the date
of the passing of this Act shall be held under a
license or lease for depasturing purposes shall not
exceed five thousand acres, nor be selected in more
than two separate blocks without the consent of the
licensee or lessee thereof: Provided also that when
one-half of any such selected block shall have been
sold or leased, and shall be occupied bonâ fide for
agricultural purposes, another block of similar extent
may be selected and set apart upon the same run.
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise and in pursuance of the
above-recited power, do hereby select and set apart
the several lands mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereunder written for the purpose of grant-
ing agricultural leases thereon and therefor.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, being part
of Run 369, and containing by admeasurement four
thousand and ninety (4,090) acres, more or less,
situate in the Teviot District, being Sections num-
bered respectively one (1), two (2), three (3), four
(4), five (5), six (6), seven (7), eight (8), nine (9),
ten (10), Block nine (IX.); and one (1), two (2),
three (3), four (4), five (5), six (6), seven (7), eight
(8), nine (9), ten (10), Block ten (X.), together with
residence areas and road lines. Bounded towards
the East by Block numbered II. and the Township
of Roxburgh thirty-nine thousand three hundred
and ninety-three (39393) links; towards the South
by Crown lands eighteen thousand six hundred and
forty (18640) links; towards the West by Crown
lands thirty-three thousand eight hundred and forty-
