Declaring "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," in force within the Lower Wairau District.

NORMANBY, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis
of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
said Act shall come into force, in respect of all
elective offices of the Board of Conservators elected
under "The Hawke's Bay and Marlborough Rivers
Act, 1868," for the district known as the Lower Wairau District, in the County of Marlborough.
Given under the hand of His Excellency
the Most Honorable George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby,
Earl of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of
the United Kingdom; and Baron Mul-
grave of New Ross, in the County of
Wexford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a
Member of Her Majesty's Most Honor-
able Privy Council; Knight Commander
of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same; and issued under the Seal of
the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth
day of May, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.

Court, Maketu.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and autho-
rity in me vested in this behalf by "The Resident
Magistrate's Act, 1867," I, George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the twenty-fourth day of
May instant, the jurisdiction of the Resident Magis-
trate's Court for
THE MAKETU DISTRICT,
as the same is defined in a Proclamation bearing
date the twenty-ninth day of November, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-seven, shall be extended
to fifty pounds.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most

Abolishing Pound at Napier.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Hawke's Bay intituled "The Cattle Tres-
pass and Impounding Act, 1867," it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time
to time, by Proclamation, to appoint public pounds
and poundkeepers at such places as he may think fit,
and at any time to annul such appointments: And
whereas by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
the powers vested in the Superintendent by the said
Act are now vested in the Governor:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me
by the said recited Acts, do hereby proclaim that the
pound established under the said first-mentioned Act
in the Town of Napier, and known as the Napier
Pound, is hereby abolished.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
