ton.

in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington,
this twelfth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

Proclaiming Mornington Γ  Borough under "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," the Governor is
empowered by Proclamation to declare any district
in New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act
from and after a day to be named in such Proclama-
tion:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the Mornington
Road District shall be and the same is hereby con-
stituted, as from the twelfth day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-seven, a borough
under the said Act; and that the name of such
borough shall be the Borough of Mornington, and
the boundaries of such borough shall be those
specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area bounded towards the North-west by
Lower Kaikorai Survey District; towards the South
by Sections 42, 41, 38, 37, 34, 33, 31, 30, 27, 26, 23,
22, 19, 18, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5, Block VI., Town
Survey District, to Section 4, Block VI., Town Sur-
vey District; thence towards the South-west by
Section 5, Block VI., Town Survey District, to the
middle of the Main South Road; thence towards the
South by the middle of the Main South Road to the
Dunedin Town Belt; towards the East by the Dunedin
Town Belt; and towards the North-east by the boun-
dary line between Sections 86 and 87, Block VI.,
Town District, and a continuation of that line to
the southern angle of Section 6, Block V., Lower
Kaikorai Survey District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington,
this twelfth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eleventh day of May, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the three hundred
and fiftieth section of "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," and upon the request of the Corporation
of the Borough of Lyttelton, His Excellency the
Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand,
doth hereby order that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby
reserved out of the waste lands in the Provincial
District of Canterbury for the purpose of granting
the same to the Corporation of the Borough of
Lyttelton aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 400 acres,
more or less, being Section No. 2180 (in red), situate
in the Ashburton District. Bounded on the North-
eastward by Section 26928; on the South-eastward
by the road south-east of that section; on the South-
west by the continuation of the road south-west of
Section 26710; and on the North-west by a line at
right-angles to the south-west boundary: so as to
contain the above quantity.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 1250 acres,
more or less, being Section No. 2181 (in red), situate
in the Ashburton District. Bounded on the North-
eastward by the road south-west of Section No.
27303; on the North-west by a line at right-angles
to the north-east boundary drawn from the junction
of aforesaid road with road south of Reserve No.
1013 (in red); on the South-eastward by a line
parallel to the north-west boundary drawn from
the intersection of the south-west side of first-
mentioned road by the north-west boundary of
Improvement Pre-emptive Right H., on Run No. 117,
Class 3; and on the South-west by a line at right-
angles to the south-east boundary: so as to contain
the above quantity.
