Alteration of Boundaries of Rodney and Waitemata
Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section thirty of "The Counties
Act, 1876," it is enacted that the Governor in
Council may, by Proclamation, alter the boundaries of
any counties, and declare, that from and after a day
to be named in such Proclamation, the new boundaries
set forth in such Proclamation shall be the boundaries
of such counties: And whereas a petition has
been presented to His Excellency the Governor by
the Council of the County of Rodney, praying him
to alter the boundaries of such county, and to declare
that the boundaries of such county shall be those
set forth in the First Schedule hereto; and a petition
has also been presented to His Excellency the
Governor by the Council of the County of Waite-
mata, praying him to alter the boundaries of such
last mentioned county, and to declare that the boun-
daries of such county shall be those set forth in the
Second Schedule hereto.
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council thereof, and in exercise and
pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, doth hereby alter the boundaries
of the County of Rodney, and declare that from and
after the eighteenth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-seven, the boundaries set
forth in the First Schedule hereto shall be the
boundaries of such county, and doth hereby alter
the boundaries of the county of Waitemata, and
declare that from and after the said eighteenth day
of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven, the new boundaries set forth in the Second
Schedule hereto shall be the boundaries of such
county.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
RODNEY COUNTY
Is bounded towards the North by Whangarei County
and Hobson County; towards the East by the ocean;
towards the South by the Weiti, Pukeatua, and
Kaukapakapa Highway Districts; and towards the
West by the Estuary of the Kaipara and Wairoa
Rivers.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
WAITEMATA COUNTY
Is bounded towards the North by the waters of the
Kaipara Estuary and by Rodney County; towards
the East by the Hauraki Gulf; towards the South
by the North Shore of Waitemata Harbour, and by a
line from the Whau Creek to Manukau Harbour,
being the western boundary of the Whau Highway
District, and by the Manukau Harbour; and towards
the West by the ocean.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-seven.

Appointing Maraki Kohea Trustee under "The Maori
Real Estate Management Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of April, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867," it is enacted that if any
title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue
to any Maoris, who or any of whom shall be infants,
lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful
for the Governor in Council, if he think fit, to order
that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or
interest therein as shall to the Governor in Council
be shown to belong to such infant, lunatic, or other
person under legal disability, shall be vested in
trustees, as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by virtue of a certificate of title
bearing date the eighteenth day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy, the parcel of
land and hereditaments described in the Schedule
hereto was certified to belong to Punu and others,
their heirs and assigns, of the District of Wairoa, in
the Province of Hawke's Bay, aboriginal natives of
New Zealand:
And whereas the said Punu died intestate:
And whereas at a sitting of the Native Land
Court held at Wairoa, in the province aforesaid, on
the twenty-third day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six, Rangi Punu and Paku
claimed to succeed to the interest and share of the
said Punu in the parcel of land described in the said
Schedule:
And it was ordered by the said Court that Rangi
Punu and Paku, infants under the age of twenty-one
years, should succeed to the interest and share of the
said Punu in the hereditaments aforesaid:
And it is expedient that Maraki Kohea be appointed
trustee under the said Act on behalf of the said
Rangi Punu and Paku:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the said Act, doth hereby order that the interests
and shares of the said Rangi Punu and Paku in the
land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and
remain vested in
MARAKI KOHEA,
as Trustee within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act for the said Rangi Punu and Paku
during their minority.
