THE following Return of AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS of the Provincial District of OTAGO, in February, 1877, is published for general information :-
N.B.—The differences between the estimated Crops of 1876 and 1877 for the Provincial District are as follows:–
Wheat (bushels) ... 1876. 950,042 1877. 1,235,393 Increase, 285,351 Bushels.
Oats (bushels) ... 3,131,326 2,307,388 Decrease, 823,938 "
Barley (bushels) ... 253,691 183,977 Decrease, 69,714 "
Potatoes (tons) ... 20,933 24,603 Increase, 3,670 Tons.
The statistics were collected after the late floods.
