Description of Trade Mark.

An embossed label stamped on the top of each tin
or vessel containing kerosene oil, of an oval shape,
measuring two inches and three quarters long
by one inch and three quarters broad. Within the
said oval are stamped or embossed the following
words, in Egyptian capital letters:-"A. F. Size,
Boston. Family Oil. Trade Mark, Noonday."

Nature of the Article to which it is proposed such
Trade Mark shall apply.
"Kerosene Oil, for illuminating purposes."

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following name of an Officiating Minister
within the meaning of the said Act is published for
general information:-

the written application.

NOTICE.

JOHN BARTER BENNETT, of Melbourne, in
the Colony of Victoria, an Attorney of the
Supreme Court of the said colony, has been ap-
pointed a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand in the said colony, under the fourth
section of "The Commissioners of the Supreme
Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of taking acknow-
ledgments of married women, under any Act or law
in force in the Colony of New Zealand requiring
such acknowledgments to be made or taken.

Proclamation.

BY virtue of the power conferred on me by War-
rant under the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, dated the thirteenth day of January
instant, and by the eighty-fourth clause of "The
Highway Act, 1874," I, Henry Bunny, Executive
Officer of the Provincial District of Wellington, in
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
appoint that on and after Monday, the twelfth day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven, the following clause shall be in force in the
Wairoa Highway District:-

"Whenever it shall appear to the satisfaction of
any Highway Board that the weight carried on
vehicles having the breadth of their wheels of less
than five inches requires to be restricted, the Board
may, by notice posted in the district, or by advertise-
ment inserted at least twice in some newspaper
circulating in the district, give notice that all such
vehicles will be subject to a penalty of not less than
one shilling per hundredweight, or fractional part of
a hundredweight, so carried above the weight of one
ton five hundredweight on two wheels, or two tons
ten hundredweight on four wheels, and that such
penalty shall be recoverable at the suit of the Col-
lector or other agent appointed for that purpose by
the Board: Provided, for the carrying into opera-
tion of this clause, the Board shall be empowered to
take such steps as to them shall appear necessary for
ascertaining the weight of any load; and no liability
or damage shall accrue for any necessary delay in
ascertaining the said weight."

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
twenty-ninth day of January, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-seven.
