Southland Benevolent Institution.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested
in him by "The Otago Hospitals Ordinance,
1872," and "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
direct that a public meeting of the contributors to
the proposed Southland Benevolent Institution shall
be held, at the Council Hall, Invercargill, on Tues-
day, the 8th day of January, 1878.
