Delegates under "The Public Domains Act, 1860,"
appointed, and former Delegation revoked.
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of December, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the eleventh section of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," it is enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time
to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said
Act conferred upon any person for any period, and
subject to such stipulations as may be specified in
such Order, and that every such delegation may from
time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas it is enacted by "The Public Domains
Act Amendment Act, 1865," that the word "person"
in the hereinbefore recited section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1860," shall be deemed to include more
persons than one:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor, by
Order in Council made on the fifth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, did
delegate certain powers conferred by "The Public
Domains Act, 1860," to certain persons therein
mentioned, subject to certain stipulations therein
specified:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said
Order in Council, and to make another delegation in
lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth, by this present Order, revoke the
delegation contained in the said Order in Council,
and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this
present Order delegate, but only with respect to the
piece or parcel of land described in the first clause or
section of the Schedule to "The Public Domains Act,
1860," all the powers conferred by the Act first
above mentioned, except the powers under or con-
ferred by subsections five and ten of section five and
section eleven, to the under-mentioned persons:---
Francis Dart Fenton, Esquire;
Theophilus Heale, Esquire;
George Manners Mitford, Esquire;
George Burgoyne Owen, Esquire;
John Benjamin Russell, Esquire;
The Mayor of the City of Auckland for the time
being;
The Mayor of the Borough of Parnell for the
time being;
The Chairman of the Highway District Board,
Newmarket, for the time being;
The Chairman of the Highway District Board,
Newton, for the time being;
The Chairman of the Highway District Board,
Ponsonby, for the time being;
The Chairman of the Highway District Board,
Grafton Road, for the time being;
The Chairman of the Highway District Board,
Karangahape Road, for the time being;
(herein referred to as "the Delegates"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The delegates shall meet for the transaction of
business on the first Monday in each month at ten
o'clock in the morning, at the office of the Mayor,
or at such other place as may from time to time be
fixed by the Delegates. The first meeting shall be
held on Monday, the seventh day of January, 1878. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chair-
man or by any two of the Delegates, provided that two
days' notice of such meeting be given to each Dele-
gate, specifying the business to be transacted at such
special meeting, and no other business than that so
specified shall be transacted at such meeting. -
Any three of the said Delegates shall form a
quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time
to time. -
The Delegates shall at their first meeting, and
thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the
first Monday in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may
join in the discussion, and shall have an original as
well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold
office until the election of his successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the
Delegates present shall choose some one of their
number to be Chairman of such meeting. -
If by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant,
the Delegates may at any monthly or special meeting
appoint a Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority
of votes of the Delegates present at a meeting.

Appointing Mere Peka Kaimako Trustee under "The
Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of December, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the
said Act"), it is enacted that if any title to or
interest in any hereditaments shall accrue to any
Macris, who or any of whom shall be infants,
lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful
for the Governor in Council, if he think fit, to order
that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or
interest therein as shall to the Governor in Council
be shown to belong to such infant, lunatic, or other
person under legal disability, shall be vested in
trustees, as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by an Order bearing date the twenty-
ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five, under the hand of John Rogan,
Esquire, Judge of the Native Land Court, under the
seal of the said Court, it was ordered that a memorial
of the ownership of Atiria Hauwaho and others to
the land and hereditaments described in the Schedule
hereto be inscribed on the Court rolls:
And whereas the said Atiria Hauwaho is an infant
under the age of twenty-one years, and it is ex-
pedient that Mere Peka Kaimako be appointed
trustee under the said Act, on behalf of the said
Atiria Hauwaho:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in
him by the said Act, doth hereby order that the
land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and
remain vested in
MERE PEKA KAIMAKO,
as Trustee, within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, for the said Atiria Hauwaho during
her minority.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing about four thousand eight hun-
