Name of Riding. Description of Boundaries.
Mount Cook Bounded on the North-west by the County of Westland; on the West and South-west by the Waitaki County; on the East by the Mount Peel and Levels Ridings; and on the South-east by the Waimate County.
WAIMATE COUNTY.
Pareora Bounded on the Northward by the Geraldine County; on the Eastward by the sea and the River Otaio; on the Southward by the said river, an east and west line drawn from the source thereof, and an east and west line drawn from the source of the north branch of the River Waihao; and on the Westward by the Rivers Hakateramea and Waihao.
Otaio Bounded on the Northward by the Pareora Riding; on the Eastward by the sea; on the Southward by the River Makikihi and its southernmost branch to its source, and also by an east and west line drawn therefrom to the north branch of the River Waihao; and on the Westward by the River Waihao.
Makikihi Bounded on the Northward by the Otaio Riding; on the Eastward by the sea; on the Southward by the Deep Creek to its source, and an east and west line drawn therefrom to the north branch of the River Waihao; and on the Westward by the River Waihao.
Deep Creek Bounded on the Northward by the Makikihi Riding; on the Eastward by the sea; on the Southward by the River Waihao; and on the Westward by the north branch of same river.
North Waihao Bounded on the Southward by the Waitaki County; on the Eastward by the sea, and also by the Deep Creek, Makikihi, Otaio, and Pareora Ridings; on the Northward by the Deep Creek and Parcora Ridings; and on the Westward by the centre of the Hakataramea River.
Hakataramea Bounded on the North-westward by the Geraldine County; on the Eastward by that county and the Pareora and North Waihao Ridings; and on the South-westward by the Waitaki County.
WESTLAND COUNTY.
Arahura Commencing at the mouth of the Teremakau, up that river to its source; thence southerly along the dividing range to the source of the Arahura River; thence following down the southern bank of that river to the sea coast, and northwards along the coast to the commencing point.
Kanieri Commencing at the mouth of the Arahura River; thence up the southern bank of said river to its source; thence southerly along the dividing range to the source of the Pass River (a branch of the Hokitika River); thence down the southern branch of said river to its junction with the Hokitika River; and thence down the south bank of the last-mentioned river to the HO line; thence westerly along the HO line to Mahinapua Lake, and by a line touching the northern bank of the said lake to the sea coast; and thence northerly along the coast to the commencing point. Excepting the Town of Hokitika.
Totara Commencing at the mouth of the Wanganui River; thence up the north bank of said river to its source; thence northerly along the dividing range to the source of the Pass River (a branch of the Hokitika River); thence down the south bank of the Pass River to the Hokitika River, and down last-mentioned river to the HO line; thence westerly along the HO line to Mahinapua Lake, and by a line touching the northern bank of the said lake to the sea coast; and thence southerly along the sea coast to the commencing point.
Okarito Bounded on the North-eastward by the Totara Riding; on the Westward by the sea coast; on the South-eastward by the south side of the Moeraki River, Moeraki Lake, and Upper Moeraki River, a line to the watershed of the Haast River, and thence by a line following said watershed, and watershed between Paringa,

Okarito— continued Oinemaka, Makitahi, and Makawiho Rivers, and Rivers Clarke and Landsborough, to Mount Napoleon; and on the Eastward by the boundary line of the county.
Jackson's Bay Bounded on the Northward by the Okarito Riding; on the North-westward by the sea coast; on the Southward by the boundary of the county; and on the South-eastward by the boundary line of the county.
WAITAKI COUNTY.
Ohau Bounded towards the North by Westland County; towards the East by Geraldine and Waimate Counties; towards the South by the Ahuriri River and a line to the summit of the watershed; and towards the West by Vincent County.
Otamatakau Bounded on the North by Ohau Riding; on the East by the Waimate County; on the South-east by the Otamatakau River, west branch, to Mount Ida; and on the South-west and West by Maniototo County and Vincent County.
Otakaika Bounded towards the West by the Otama- takau Riding; towards the North by the Wai- mate County; towards the East by the Maruwenua, Kakanui, and Otepopo Hundreds, and the Otepopo Survey District, to Waikouaiti County boundary; towards the South and West by Moeraki Hundred, Waikouaiti County, and Maniototo County.
Awamoko Bounded towards the North-east by the Waimate County; towards the East by western boundaries of Block 1 and part of Block 4, Awamoko Survey District; towards the South by the watershed of the Awamoko Downs; and towards the West by Otakaika Riding.
Papakaio Bounded towards the North by the Waimate County; towards the South-east by the ocean; towards the South by the Town of Oamaru; towards the West by Oamaru Stream to the northern boundary of Block 13, Oamaru Survey District; thence due west to Block 8, Awamoko Survey District; thence due north to the main Waitaki Road; thence westerly along the centre of road line to Section 22, Block 1, same district; and towards the West by Awamoko Riding.
Waiareka Bounded towards the North by the Awamoko and Papakaio Ridings; towards the East by the Papakaio Riding and the Town of Oamaru; towards the South by the main North Road to the Awamoa Stream, in Section 23, Block 4, Oamaru Survey District; thence by said stream to northern boundary of said block, thence due west by block boundary to Waiareka Stream: thence up said stream to north-eastern boundary of Block 9, Oamaru Survey District; thence due west to Kakanui River; thence around south-west corner of Block 14, Oamaru Survey District, to south-east corner of Block 3, Kauroo Survey District; thence west along southern boundary of said block; thence northerly, south-westerly, and southerly around Section 1, Block 4, Kauroo Survey District, to its south-western corner; thence due west to Kakanui Hundred line, thence due north to Awamoko Riding.
Kakanui Bounded towards the North by the Waiareka Riding and the Town of Oamaru; towards the East by the ocean; towards the South by the Kakanui River and the Island Stream to the western boundary of the Otepopo Hundred, thence due north to the Kakanui Hundred, thence due west to the western boundary of Kakanui Hundred, thence due north to Waia- reka Riding.
Otepopo Bounded towards the North by the Island Stream and Kakanui River; towards the East by the ocean; towards the South by the Waianakarua River and its southern branch; and towards the West by the western boundary of the Otepopo Survey District.
Moeraki Bounded towards the North by Otakaik and Otepopo Ridings; towards the East by the ocean; towards the South by Waikouaiti County; and towards the West by Otakaik Riding.
