Rendova Bay, some from one to two miles from the
land; it appears clear to the southward and westward.
Ashmore Bank, Inner Route. (Chart 2354, Sheet
20.)-With West Ashmore Bank S.W. by S. 2 miles,
H.M.S. "Barracouta" passed over a shoal of about
4 fathoms white sand and black rocks. It is of small
extent, and may have a little less water on some of
the rocks.
S.W. W., 2' from W. Ashmore Bank, passed two
large black rocks, with 4 to 5 fathoms on them.

Reserve for Town and Harbour Improvements in the
Province of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by the Regulations for the Sale and
Disposal of Lands taken under the authority
of "The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and
"The New Zealand Settlements Amendment and
Continuance Act, 1865," contained in the Schedule
to an Order in Council made and issued, bearing date
the eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-one, it is provided that reserves
for roads, and all other public purposes whatever, and
for education, and the sites for churches and chapels
or other places of worship for different religious
denominations, may be made by Government out of
any confiscated lands, and that notices of all such
reserves shall be published in the New Zealand
Gazette: It is hereby notified that the lands speci-
fied in the Schedule hereunder written shall be
reserved for the purposes therein mentioned and set
opposite the descriptions of the said parcels of land
respectively.

Governor's Assent to Proclamation under "The
Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1874."

Wellington, 1st November, 1876.

IT is hereby notified that a Proclamation under
"The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1874," under
the hand of his Honor the Superintendent of Auck-
land, bearing date the 30th day of October, 1876,

reserving certain land in the Province of Auckland,
as specified in the Schedule hereto, and for the pur-
pose therein mentioned, has been approved by the
Governor in Council, as provided by the twenty-
seventh section of "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875."

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Province of
Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing
by admeasurement one hundred acres, more or less,
situated in the Parish of Waikomiti, in the County
of Eden, and being Allotment No. 248. Bounded
towards the North by a line, four thousand two hun-
dred and forty links; towards the East by a road one
hundred links wide, two thousand four hundred and
twenty-six links, and five hundred and forty-two
links; towards the South by the line of limit of
deviation of the Auckland and Kaipara Railway;
and towards the West by a line, two thousand two
hundred and forty-nine links. As a site for a public
cemetery.

Reservation of Land by the Superintendent of Otago
approved by the Governor.

IT is hereby notified that a notice under "The
Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and "The
Municipal Reserves Act, 1874," under the hand of
His Honor the Superintendent of Otago, bearing
date the 24th of October, 1876, reserving certain
land in the Province of Otago, as specified in the
Schedule hereto, and for the purpose therein men-
tioned, has been approved by the Governor in
Council, as provided by the 27th section of "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875."

mencing at the south-west corner of Block II.;

links; thence south-east to the north-west corner of
Foyle Street, one hundred and forty-five (145) links;
thence north-east along Foyle Street, four hundred
