NAME OF DISTRICT.
Grey Valley District.
DESCRIPTION OF DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North partly by the southern boun-
dary of the Inangahua District, and partly by the
southern boundary of the Lyell District; thence by
part of the western boundary of the Amuri District
to the saddle between the River Hurunui and the
River Teremakau; thence by the boundary line
between the Province of Nelson and the Province of
Westland to the junction of the River Arnold with
the River Grey; and thence by the eastern boundary
of the Cobden District, and part of the eastern
boundary of the Charleston District, to the point on
the Taparoha Range, from whence this description
commenced.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
thirtieth day of October, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred

Regulations for the Sale and Disposal of Land to the
Hawera Town Hall Company (Limited).
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirty-first day of October, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The New Zealand Settlements
Amendment and Continuance Act, 1865," it
is enacted that the order and manner in which land
taken under the authority of "The New Zealand
Settlements Act, 1863," and "The New Zealand
Settlements Amendment and Continuance Act,
1865," should be laid out for sale and sold, should
be at the discretion of the Governor, who shall have
power to cause such land, or any part thereof, to be
laid out for sale and sold from time to time in such
manner, for such consideration, and in such allot-
ments as he shall think fit, and subject to such
regulations as he shall, with the advice of the Ex-
ecutive Council, from time to time prescribe:

And whereas by "The New Zealand Settlements
Amendment Act, 1866," it is provided that the said
land shall be sold for such consideration or at such
price, and whether for cash or otherwise, as the
Governor shall from time to time prescribe; and
that all land taken under the authority of the said
"New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and "The
New Zealand Settlements Amendment and Con-
tinuance Act, 1865," or either of them, and sold or
disposed of under the authority of the first recited
Act, shall be sold or disposed of under regulations
to be made by the Governor in Council, which
regulations shall be published in the New Zealand
Gazette:
And whereas the land herein mentioned was, in
pursuance of the Regulations of the eleventh day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one,
reserved as a site for a blockhouse:
And whereas a notice under the hand of the
Secretary for Crown Lands, dated the ninth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
six, in accordance with section seven of the said
Regulations of the eleventh day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-one, was issued and duly
published in the New Zealand Gazette, of the intention
to withdraw the reservation:
And whereas it is expedient, notwithstanding that
the period of three months required by the herein-
before recited Regulations has not expired, that the
land mentioned in the Regulations hereunder written
should be sold to the Hawera Town Hall Company
(Limited), therein named, as by these Regulations is
provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise of all powers and authorities vested in him
in that behalf, doth hereby, with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the Colony, make
the following Regulations for the sale and disposal
of the land mentioned therein, and which said land
has been taken under the said Acts or some or one
of them.
REGULATIONS.

It shall be lawful for the Secretary for Crown
Lands to sell to the Hawera Town Hall Company
(Limited), all that parcel of land in the Province of
Taranaki, containing by admeasurement one (1) rood,
more or less, situate in the Town of Hawera, and being
Lot 6 of Section 19. Bounded towards the North
by Lot 5 of Section 19, two hundred (200) links;
towards the West and South by streets, one hundred
and twenty-five (125) links, and two hundred (200)
links respectively; and towards the East by other
part of Section 19, one hundred and twenty-five (125)
links; for the sum of five (5) pounds sterling. Such
sale shall be made by private contract, and the pur-
chase money shall be paid by the said Hawera
Town Hall Company (Limited) to the said Secretary
for Crown Lands. -
The sale hereby authorized to be made shall be
made within one calendar month from the publication
of these Regulations in the New Zealand Gazette, and
the purchase money shall be paid within the like
period. Upon payment of the purchase money, a
Crown grant shall be issued to the Hawera Town
Hall Company (Limited), in like manner and
subject to the same terms and conditions as if the
said land had been purchased by the said Company
at auction under the General Regulations now in
force for the Sale and Disposal of Lands taken under
"The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and the
several Acts amending the same.
