Kumara Special Licensing District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act 1873 Amend-
ment Act, 1874," it is, amongst other things,
provided that, in order to make provision for the
granting of licenses on gold fields and in outlying
districts, it shall be lawful for the Governor from
time to time to proclaim any district in any province
of the colony, the boundaries whereof shall be defined
in such Proclamation, to be a special licensing dis-
trict, and the boundaries of such district from time
to time to alter, and to abolish any such district:
And whereas by a Proclamation dated the nineteenth
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
six, a special licensing district, called "The Kumara
Special Licensing District," was constituted within
the Province of Westland: And whereas it is ex-
pedient to alter the boundaries of the said district:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in virtue of the powers conferred upon
me by the said recited Act, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the date hereof, the
boundaries of the Kumara Special Licensing Dis-
trict shall be altered, and that henceforth the
boundaries thereof shall be as defined and described
in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
ONE hundred and fifteen acres two roods, more or
less, situate in the Arahura District; commencing at
a point on the eastern side of the Goldsborough and
Greenstone Road, distant thirteen chains in a north-
easterly direction from its intersection by the southern
side of Seddon Street; thence north-westerly at a
right angle with said road for fifteen chains; thence
south-westerly at a right angle for thirty-three
chains; thence south-easterly at a right angle for
thirty-five chains; thence north-easterly parallel with
north-western boundary for thirty-three chains; and
thence north-westerly parallel with south-western
boundary for twenty chains to the commencing
point.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wel-
lington, this thirty-first day of October,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-six.

Proclamation of Public Prison at Opotiki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Prisons Act,
1873," it is provided that the Governor may from
time to time, as to him shall seem meet, by Proclama-
tion published in the New Zealand Gazette, declare
any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a public
prison; and from and after the publication of any
such Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, or
from any later time specified in the Proclamation,
such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be
deemed to be a public prison:
