Application for Registration of Trade Mark.
NOTICE is hereby given, that FRANK WESTON, of
Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales,
has applied to register the following Trade Mark
under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866:"-
Description of Trade Mark.
A white paper label about six inches square. In
the centre is a figure or parallelogram composed of
thin straight black lines, and measuring about three
inches and eleven-sixteenths of an inch longitudi-
nally, and about three inches measured transversely.
These black lines are distant about the sixteenth
part of an inch from each other. This figure is
divided by thin black lines drawn longitudinally into
three portions or divisions; the portions on the right
and left hand side being about one inch broad, and
the middle or centre division being about one inch
and seven-eighths of an inch broad. In the left
hand division, and at the top, is a fanciful represen-
tation of a scroll, whereon is printed in small black
capitals the words "Great American Remedy";
immediately underneath the scroll, and in the centre
of the division, is the word "For," printed in type
similar to that known as "pearl sanserif." Imme-
diately underneath, each word forming or occupying
a line, are the words (printed in type somewhat
similar to that known as "pica grotesque") "Rheuma-
tism," "Neuralgia," " Sprains," "Wounds," " Cuts,"
"Headache," "Toothache," " &c., &c."
In the middle or centre division of the figure, and
at the top, is the word "Weston's," printed in orna-
mental capital letters of one-fourth of an inch in
height, the letters forming a crescent. Immediately
underneath is an engraving, purporting to be the
head, face, and shoulders of Frank Weston, the pro-
prietor. Immediately underneath is a fanciful de-
vice of a flower, and underneath that, printed in
ornamented black capitals one-fourth of an inch in
height, are the words "Wizard Oil." Underneath
these words is a device representing a ribbon, and
between the two extremities or ends of the ribbon,
and underneath the said words "Wizard Oil," and
printed in small italics, are the words "Composed
of." On the ribbon, printed in type similar to that
known as "great primer grotesque," are the words
"Healing Gums, Vegetable Oils," and underneath,
printed in the same type, are the words "Herbs,
&c." Immediately underneath these words, printed
in small black capitals of about the sixteenth part of
an inch in height, are the words "None Genuine
without the signature of the Proprietor," and follow-
ing, occupying one line, is the signature "Frank
Weston," purporting to be a fac-simile, in black
letters, of the signature of Frank Weston, the pro-
prietor. Underneath the signature, printed in black
capitals, are the words " Sydney, N.S. W."
In the portion or division on the left-hand side,
and at the top, is an ornamental scroll, whereon is
printed, in small black capitals about the sixteenth
part of an inch in height, the words "Used Inter-
nally." Immediately underneath this scroll is the
word "For," printed in small black letters. Under-
neath, and surrounded with fanciful flourishes, and
printed in type similar to that known as "pica
grotesque," the letters being about the sixteenth
part of an inch in height, and each word forming or
occupying a separate line, are the words "Cholera,"
"Spasms," "Cramps," "&c." Underneath, printed
in small black capitals, is the word "Proprietor."
