of the said label, the bottom black line of the said
red band being drawn from a point in the said inner
black line on the right-hand side of the said label
distant seven-eighths of an inch from the convex
inner black line to the junction of the bottom inner
black line on the left-hand side of the said label. On the red band, printed in
yellow letters edged black, of about three-eighths of
an inch in height, are the words “ Blood Restorer,”
Immediately underneath the convex inner black
line are the words “ Health for All,” printed in
small Roman capitals. Beneath these words is a
device or figure meant to be a representation of the
Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Between this device or figure and the said red
band are the words, printed in black letters,
“ Hitchens,” “ Celebrated for the Cure of Scrofula,
Ringworm, Bronchitis, Inflammation of any kind.”
The word “ Hitchens” is printed in black Roman
capitals of about a quarter of an inch in height, and
with a small scroll, occupies one line; the word
“ Celebrated” is printed in smaller letters, and
occupies the second line; and the words “ For the cure
of Scrofula,” “ Ringworm,” “ Bronchitis,” “ Inflam-
mation of any kind” occupy and form the third, fourth,
fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth lines respectively.
Between the said red band and the bottom inner black
line are the words “ Liver” “ and Kidney” “ Com-
plaints,” “ Rheumatism,” “ Dyspepsia,” “ Chronic
Dysentry,” “ and all Nervous Disorders,” occupying
the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and
seventh lines respectively. Underneath, printed in
small black capitals, are the words “ None Genuine
unless signed by the Proprietor;” and in the right-
hand corner is a signature, “ H. Hitchens,” purporting
to be a fac-simile in black letters of the signature of
Henry Albert Holland Hitchens.
In the left-hand corner of the label are the words
printed in small black capitals, “ Herald Steam
Litho.”
The bottles upon which the said labels are fixed
contain about twenty-six ounces, and are about three
inches and a half in diameter and eight inches and
a quarter in height, and are of a blue colour. They
are known as tincture bottles.
Each bottle will be wrapped in a paper on the out-
side of which will be affixed the label above described.
The wrapper will be sealed with yellow wax, and
stamped with the representation of a drooping lily.
Nature of Article to which it is proposed such Trade
Mark shall apply.

1863.”
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in
me as Commissioner appointed by His Excellency
the Governor to carry out the Regulations for the
Sale of Lands taken for Settlement under “ The New
Zealand Settlements Act, 1863,” in the Province
of Taranaki, I do hereby notify that the Town,
Suburban, and Rural Lands specified in the Schedule
hereunder will be offered for Sale by public auction,
in accordance with the said Regulations, at the
Crown Lands Office, New Plymouth, at Noon, on
Friday, the 7th day of July, 1876.
