Annexation of a piece of Land to the Borough of
Blenheim.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a notice duly published, bearing date
the third day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, under the hand of the
Hon. Charles C. Bowen, the Minister for the time
then acting for the Colonial Secretary, was given that
it was the intention of the Governor, in conformity
with the provisions of the eighteenth section of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," to take into con-
sideration the annexation of the land described in
the Schedule hereto, and in the Schedule accom-
panying the now reciting notice, to the Borough
of Blenheim, on Thursday, the sixth day of Jan-
uary then next; and that if the whole or a ma-
jority of the inhabitant householders of the said piece
of land should before that date, by petition under
their hands, pray the Governor that such annexation
be not made, then the same should not be made:
And whereas no such petition as last mentioned has
been made:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested me in this behalf by the
eighteenth section of "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1867," do hereby proclaim and declare the piece
of land described in the Schedule hereto to be annexed
to the Borough of Blenheim.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES AND DESCRIPTION OF THE LANDS PRO-
POSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE BOROUGH OF
BLENHEIM, IN THE PROVINCE OF MARLBOROUGH.
COMPRISING Sections numbered 2, 4, 6, part of 5, and
Road Reserve numbered 196, all in the District of
Omaka, as shown on the map of the said district
in the Survey Office, Blenheim, and containing five
hundred and fifty (550) acres or thereabouts; com-
mencing at the south-eastern corner of Section num-
bered 1 in the said district, and bounded towards the
East by a public road seventy-five (75) links in width,
and bearing 161° 22′ magnetic for a distance of five
thousand five hundred (5500) links; thence towards
the South by a public road also seventy-five (75)
links in width, and bearing 251° 22′ magnetic for a
distance of eight thousand four hundred (8400) links;
thence towards the West by the western boundaries
of Sections numbered 6 and part of 5 in the said Dis-
trict of Omaka, and bearing 341° 22′ magnetic to the
Omaka River; thence towards the North by the
Omaka River to the western boundary of Section
numbered 3 in the said District of Omaka; thence
again towards the East by that boundary line, and
bearing 161° 22' magnetic to the south-western
corner of said Section numbered 3 in the said Dis-
trict of Omaka; thence again towards the North by
a line forming the southern boundary of said Section
numbered 3 and Section numbered 1 in the said Dis-
trict of Omaka, and bearing 71° 22′ magnetic for a
distance of five thousand six hundred (5600) links,
to the starting point at the south-eastern corner of
said Section numbered 1 in the said District of
Omaka.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief inand over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depend-
encies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this seventeenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of January, 1876.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, at any time and from time to
time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her
Majesty or dispose of in such other manner as for
the public interest may seem best, such of the waste
lands of the Crown in any of the provinces of the
colony as may be required for the purposes of
military defence, or for the construction of trunk
lines of road, or as sites for public buildings for
the use of the General Government, or for other
purposes of public utility or convenience:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority in that behalf vested in
him, doth hereby except from sale and reserve to
Her Majesty the parcel of the waste lands of the
Crown particularly specified and described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in
the said Schedule mentioned and set opposite the
description of the said parcel of land.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the parcel of waste
lands of the Crown particularly specified and
described in the Schedule hereunder written is re-
quired for the purpose mentioned and set opposite
to the descriptions of the said parcel of land in the
said Schedule, and that the same has been excepted
