Cromwell Municipal Corporation Regulations.

THE following Regulations, passed by the Municipal
Corporation of the Town of Cromwell, are pub-
lished in accordance with the provisions of "The
Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act, 1875."

REGULATIONS made and adopted under Subdivision 1,
Part 1, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.
- The height of porticoes shall be 8 feet at the
kerbstone. - The notice of intention to erect a portico, stating
materials of which the same is to be made, shall be
given to, and must be approved by, the Council before
commencing to erect the same.
Regulation made and adopted under Subdivision 3,
Part 1, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.
- The size of drain pipes shall be not more than
3 inches in diameter; and drains crossing footpaths
shall be so constructed as to discharge at a hole in the
kerbstone at the level of the street channel.
Regulations made and adopted under Subdivision 4,
Part 1, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.
- Crossings over footpaths shall be 9 feet wide,
and shall be pitched with boulder pitchers for a dis-
tance of 2 feet from the channel on to the said cross-
ing, and the kerbstone shall be turned for a distance
of 2 feet at each side of the said crossing. - Crossings shall be made to the approval of the
Council, and a certificate obtained of such approval,
otherwise such crossings shall be deemed to be ob-
structions unauthorized by the Council.

Part 7, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.

The limit within which it shall not be lawful to
store hay, straw, or any similar class of produce un-
covered, shall be within 500 yards from Melmore
Terrace, along its length from the Cromwell Bridge
to Monaghan Street. -
The limit within which it shall not be lawful to
store hay, straw, or any similar class of produce under
cover, unless stored at least 9 feet above the ground,
shall be within 50 feet of Melmore Terrace, along its
length from the Cromwell Bridge to Monaghan Street.
Regulation made and adopted under Subdivision 1,
Part 8, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.
- The limit within which it shall not be lawful to
keep swine, swine-yards, or yards for milking pur-
poses within the Town of Cromwell, shall be an
imaginary line commencing at the Cromwell Bridge,
thence along the Kawarau River to opposite the
intersection of Monaghan Street, thence along said
street to Donegal Street, thence along said street in
an easterly direction to a point at which if produced
would meet the Clutha River, thence to the starting
point.
Regulations made and adopted under Subdivision 2,
Part 8, of Schedule 13 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," for the Town of Cromwell.
- The license fee for a private slaughter-house
shall be (inclusive of a registration fee) the sum of
two pounds per annum, payable on the first day of
April in each year. - The premises of such slaughter-houses shall be
paved and suitably prepared, so that in the opinion
of the Inspector of Nuisances such premises can be
kept inoffensive, and a report to the above effect shall
be made to the Council by the said Inspector of
Nuisances before a license shall issue. - All blood, offal, or other offensive matter shall
be removed from such licensed premises at least once
in every twenty-four hours. - Such licensed premises shall at all times be open
to the Inspector of Nuisances. - No person except the licensee, or his servant
bona fide, shall slaughter any animal in such licensed
premises.
