(LIMITED).

A MEETING of the Shareholders in the above
Company was held at Outram on the 26th
February, 1876, when the following resolution was
passed unanimously: “—That this meeting is of
opinion that the affairs of the Company have been
fairly wound-up.”

In the matter of the Dunedin Peninsula and
Ocean Beach Railway Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given, that the plans, &c. (re-
quired by section 4 of the above-mentioned
Act), of that portion of the above-named Company’s
projected line of railway from the Anderson’s Bay
Junction to Portobello have this day been deposited,
and may be inspected, at the office of the Registrar of
the Supreme Court at Dunedin.

Dated at Dunedin, this nineteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

PATENT for an Invention for Grubbing or Subsoil-
ing simultaneously with ploughing, by means of
an adjustable grubber to be attached to any descrip-
tion of plough.

This is to notify, that FREDERICK LOWE JEFFCOAT,
of Winchendon, Saddle Hill, in the Province of
Otago, Farmer, did, on the thirteenth day of April
instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in
the Colonial Secretary’s Office, in Wellington, a
specification or instrument in writing, under his
hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertain-
ing the nature of the said Invention, and in what
manner the same is to be performed; and that by

land side and producing a lozenge-shaped sod.

This is to notify, that FREDERICK LOWE JEFFCOAT,
of Winchendon, Saddle Hill, in the Province of
Otago, Farmer, did, on the thirteenth day of April
instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in
the Colonial Secretary’s Office, in Wellington, a
specification or instrument in writing, under his
hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertain-
ing the nature of the said Invention, and in what
manner the same is to be peformed; and that by

reason of such deposit the said Invention is protected
and secured to him exclusively for the term of six
calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said FREDERICK
LOWE JEFFCOAT has given notice in writing, at my
office, of his intention to proceed with his application
for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I
have appointed Friday, the eleventh day of August
next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at my office,
to hear and consider the said application and all
objections thereto; and I do hereby require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the seventh
day of August, at my office, in Wellington, particulars
in writing of their objections to the said application,
otherwise they will be precluded from urging the
same.

Given under my hand this thirteenth day of April,
1876.

In the matter of a Bill to be intituled “An Act
to dissolve the Corporation of the City of
Dunedin, and to re-incorporate the Citizens of
and consolidate and amend the Laws relating to
the said City.”

NOTICE is hereby given, that application is in-
tended to be made to the General Assembly of
New Zealand, at the next ensuing Session thereof,
for leave to bring in a Bill to be shortly intituled
“The Dunedin Municipal Act, 1876,” and that the
objects of such Bill will be as follow, that is to say,—
To dissolve the Corporation of the City of Dundin
as the same (hereinafter called “the old Corpora-
tion”), now exists; to repeal the several Acts and
Ordinances specified in the First Schedule to the said
Bill to the extent in such Schedule stated, and so
far only as the City of Dunedin is concerned; to ex-
tend, alter, and re-define the boundaries of the said
city, and to divide the same into six wards, and to
define the boundaries of such wards respectively; to
re-incorporate the citizens of the said city under the
name or style of “The Corporation of the City of
Dunedin ” (hereinafter called “the new Corpora-
tion”); to transfer all the real and personal property,
rights, and liabilities of the old to the new Corpora-
tion; to transfer from James Macandrew, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to the new
Corporation, all and singular the lands comprised and
described in the Schedule to the “Local Municipal
Estate Ordinance, 1857,” to be held by the said new
Corporation for purposes of public utility, as in the
said Bill mentioned. To transfer from the said Super-
intendent to the said new Corporation all land reserves
at present held by the said Superintendent for purposes
of public recreation and utility for the Town of Dun-
edin and its inhabitants, to be held by the said new
Corporation for the same or the like purposes. To
provide for the qualification and enrolment of the
citizens of the said city, the constitution of the Coun-
cil, and the election of the Mayor, Councillors,
Auditors, and Assessors of the said city. To regulate
the proceedings of the said Council, the ouster from
office of any person unduly elected to, or unlawfully
exercising, any civic office as mentioned in the said
Bill. To regulate the appointment of officers, the
making of contracts, and keeping of accou ts by the
said Council. To provide for the raising of rates by
the said Council upon all rateable property within
the said city. To authorize the said Council to im-
pose, collect, and receive tolls in respect of public
highways. To provide for the management of all
streets and roads within the said city. To vest in the
said Council the control and management of the
