Hon. John Hall summoned to the Legislative Council.

Wellington, 19th April, 1876.
WHEREAS doubts have arisen whether the Seat of
John Hall, Esquire, of Christchurch, in the Pro-
vince of Canterbury, in the Legislative Council of New
Zealand, has not been vacated in consequence of the
permission of the Governor relieving the said John
Hall from giving his attendance in the said Legisla-
tive Council during the year 1874 having been
omitted to be signified by the said Governor to the
Legislative Council-as provided by the 36th section
of the Constitution Act-His Excellency the Gover-
nor has, in Her Majesty's name, re-summoned the
said
JOHN HALL, Esquire,
to the Legislative Council of New Zealand, by Writ
of Summons under the Seal of the Colony.

Zealand.

THE following Resolution, passed by the Senate of
the University of New Zealand on the 7th
March, 1876, is published for general information.

"That a notification be made that certain of the
students, who were gazetted on the 5th of August,
1875, as having 'failed to pass' the University
Examinations, did not intend to present themselves
for examination in any other capacity than as candi-
dates for Scholarships."

Public Vaccinator appointed.

IT is hereby notified, that, under the provisions of
"The Public Health Act, 1872," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleased to appoint the under-
mentioned gentleman to be a Public Vaccinator, to
perform gratuitous vaccination in accordance with the
provisions of the said Act, and any regulations made
or to be made thereunder, for the district mentioned
in the Schedule hereto, and set opposite his name.
