Defining Blocks of Land under “The New Zealand University Reserves Act, 1875.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the third section of “The New Zealand University Reserves Act, 1875,” it is amongst other things enacted that the blocks of land in the Provinces of Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury, referred to in the Schedule B to the now reciting Act, shall be defined by Proclamation by the Governor within six months after the passing of such Act:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the said section of the said Act, do hereby define the above-mentioned blocks as follows:—
PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement three hundred and fifty-four (354) acres, more or less, being allotment number seven (7) and northern portion of allotment number five (5) in the Parish of Ararimu, in the County of Eden, bounded on the North-east by a road three thousand one hundred and eighty-nine (3189) links, two thousand two hundred and eighty-three (2283) links, and two thousand nine hundred and fifty (2950) links; on the South by other portion of allotment No. 5, three thousand five hundred (3500) links, and one thousand six hundred and twenty-five (1625) links, and by allotment No. 6, nine hundred (900) links, and five thousand five hundred and fifty (5550) links; on the South-west by a road two hundred (200) links, three hundred and thirty-nine (339) links, two hundred and thirty (230) links, five hundred and eighteen (518) links, three hundred and sixty-five (365) links, four hundred and nineteen (419) links, nine hundred and seventy-one (971) links, two hundred and ninety-nine (299) links, one hundred and seventy-nine (179) links, two hundred and sixty-two (262) links, and two hundred and sixty-six (266) links; and on the North-west by allotment No. 8, seven thousand eight hundred and seventy-five (7875) links.
PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one thousand five hundred (1500) acres, more or less, situated in the Ashburton District, bounded on the South-west by the road forming the north-east boundary of Section 23991; on the Eastward by the road leading northerly from Section 2582; on the North-east by a line parallel to and eighty-eight chains distant from the south-west boundary; and on the North-west by a line at right angles to the aforesaid road, to include the above quantity.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Most Honorable George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County of York, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued at Auckland, this thirteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

ERRATUM.—In the New Zealand Gazette, No. 22, of April 13, 1876, in last paragraph of Regulations for Public Prisons, for “7 oz. or 5 oz. of meat,” read “7 oz. or 5 oz. of meal.”
