THE Deputy of the Clerk of the Writs has received
a Return to the Writ issued by him on the
sixth day of December instant, for the election of
two Members to serve in the House of Representa-
tives of New Zealand for the Electoral District
hereinafter specified; and by the indorsement on
such Writ it appears that the under-mentioned
gentlemen have been duly elected Members for the
said District, viz.,—

Inquiry for a Missing Person.

INQUIRIES have been made for a man named
ALFRED AUGUSTUS WARDALE,
who arrived in Auckland in December, 1872, by the
ship "Norham Castle." He is supposed to have
gone to Wellington for a visit, with the intention of
returning to Auckland. He is twenty-eight years
of age, short of stature, has been a sailor, and
possesses an able seaman's certificate (also that of a
ship's carpenter), and has learnt the trade of car-
penter and builder. A photograph of the above-
mentioned person can be seen at this office.
Any person possessing information respecting the
person above named is requested to communicate
the same to this office.
