enacted that the Governor in Council may make Appointing Gazettes under "The Debtors and Creditors
Orders from time to time directing that the provisions Act, 1875."
contained in the sections twenty to forty-five of "The
Public Health Act, 1872," both inclusive, or any of
them, be put in force in New Zealand, or in such
parts thereof or in such places therein as in such
orders respectively may be expressed, and may in
like manner revoke any such order; and, subject to
such revocation as aforesaid, every such order shall
be in force for such period as shall be expressed in
such order, and, in case no period shall be expressed
in such order, then such order shall be in force until
revocation; and every such order shall be published in
the Gazette, and such publication shall be conclusive
evidence of such order to all intents and purposes;
and none of the said provisions shall be in force in
any part of New Zealand until an order directing
the same to be put in force shall have been made and
published as aforesaid:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
and in exercise and pursuance of all powers and
authorities in this behalf in him vested, doth hereby
direct that the provisions contained in the sections
of "The Public Health Act, 1872," numbered from
twenty to forty-five, both inclusive, shall be put in
force in the Borough of the Thames.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of December, 1875.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the second section of "The Public
Health Act Amendment Act, 1875," it is
enacted that the Governor in Council may make
orders from time to time directing that the provisions
contained in the sections twenty to forty-five of "The
Public Health Act, 1872," both inclusive, or any of
them, be put in force in New Zealand, or in such
parts thereof or in such places therein as in such
orders respectively may be expressed, and may in

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1875," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that the term "Gazette" in the said
Act shall mean any newspaper or newspapers to be
from time to time appointed by the Governor for
each district: And whereas, by a Proclamation
dated the twenty-second instant, the districts named
in the Schedule hereto were constituted districts
under the said Act: Now therefore, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me, do hereby appoint that, for the districts
named in the Schedule hereto, the newspapers the
names whereof are in the said Schedule set opposite
to the names of such districts shall be the Gazettes
for such districts respectively under the said Act.

Tokomairiro "The Bruce Herald."
Western Otago "The Southland Times."

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor this twenty-second day of De-
cember, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five.

Fixing Sittings of District Court at Carlyle.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in this behalf enabling me, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
fix and appoint that sittings of the District Court of
Taranaki, for civil and criminal business, shall be
held as follows:-

In the Resident Magistrate's Court House at
Carlyle, on the first Wednesday in each of the
months of March, June, and November in
every year.

Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the
Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the
first day thereafter not being a holiday.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor this sixteenth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five.
