IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1867," "The Municipal Cor-
porations Acts Amendment Acts," and "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Waterworks Act, 1872," a
Special Meeting of the Timaru Borough Council will
be held at the Town Clerk's Office, Timaru, on the
27th day of December, 1875, to take into considera-
tion the advisability of borrowing the sum of Fifteen
Thousand Pounds (Β£15,000) sterling, for the purpose of
constructing works for supplying the Town of Timaru
with water, by Debentures of Fifty Pounds (Β£50)
sterling each, at fifteen years, bearing interest at the
rate of 8 per cent. per annum, payable at any of
the authorized agencies of the banking establishment
appointed by the Timaru Borough Council, upon
security of an annual special rate of ninepence in
the pound sterling on all assessed property within
the Borough of Timaru ; such rate to be collected at
intervals of six months.

I, JOHN THOMAS DALE, Licentiate of the
Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, and
Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edin-
burgh, now residing at Porangahau, in the Province
of Hawke's Bay, do hereby give notice that I intend
to apply to you, on the ninth day of December, 1875,
to have my name placed on the Register of Medical
Practitioners in the Colony of New Zealand ; and
have deposited the evidence of my qualifications,
along with this, in your office, for public inspection,
in terms of "The Medical Practitioners Registration
Act, 1869."

JOHANSEN, Doctor of Medicine and Surgery
from the University of Berlin, and admitted for
practice as a Physician in the German Empire by the
Berlin Upper Examination Commission, now residing
at Motueka, give notice that I intend to apply to the
Registrar-General in Wellington, on 17th December
next, to be registered in accordance with the provi-
sions of "The Medical Practitioner's Registration
Act, 1869," and that Certificates of my qualifications
as aforesaid are deposited for public inspection in the
office of the Registrar-General.

DATENT for "The Making and Using a Flux for
Smelting Titaniferous - iron Ore (commonly
called iron-sand)."

This is to notify, that EDWIN WISE HOLLIS, of
Grahamstown, Thames, in the Province of Auckland,
did, on the eleventh day of June last, deposit at the
office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's
office, at Wellington, a specification or instrument in
writing, under his hand and seal, particularly describ-
ing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention,
and in what manner the same is to be performed;
and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention-
is protected and secured to him exclusively for the
term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said Edwin Wise
Hollis has given notice in writing, at my office, of
his intention to proceed with his application for his
Letters Patent for the said invention, and that I have
appointed Friday, the third day of December next, at
eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear
and consider the said application and all objections
thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having
an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters
Patent to leave, on or before the twenty-ninth day
of November next, at my office in Wellington, parti-
culars in writing of their objections to the said appli-
cation, otherwise they will be precluded from urging
the same.

Given under my hand this seventh day of
September, 1875.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between William
George Winder and Alexander Turner as Painters
has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. The
business will in future be carried on by Alexander
Turner, who will liquidate all claims against the
firm, and to whom alone all debts due to the said firm
must be paid.
