NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership | heretofore subsisting between us the under-
signed Edward Meek and William Barker Howell,
as General Farmers and Graziers, at or upon the
farm, land, and premises known as the Sisters' Farm,
situate at Pleasant Point, in the Province of Canter-
bury, and Colony of New Zealand, under the style
or firm of "Meek and Howell," was dissolved on the
twenty-second day of July, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-five, by mutual consent.
All debts due from the said late firm will be paid
by the said William Barker Howell, and all accounts
due to the said late firm will be received by him at
the Sisters' Farm aforesaid, where the said business
will in future be carried on by the said William
Barker Howell alone.
As witness our hands.

second day of July, 1875, in the presence of
George Henry Brooks, Doctors' Commons,

Zealand, the twelfth day of October, 1875,

PATENT for a Gaslight Controller and Im-
prover.
This is to notify, that JOHN THOMPSON LOVE, of
Wellington, New Zealand, Tinsmith and Gasfitter,
did, on the sixteenth day of July last, deposit at the
office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's
Office, in Wellington, a specification or instrument in
writing, under his hand and seal, particularly describ-
ing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention,
and in what manner the same is to be performed;
and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention
is protected and secured to him exclusively for the
term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify, that the said John
Thompson Love has given notice in writing, at my
office, of his intention to proceed with his application
for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I
have appointed Friday, the thirty-first day of Decem-
ber next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my
office, to hear and consider the said application and
all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the twenty-
seventh day of December next, at my office, in Wel-
lington, particulars in writing of their objections to
the said application, otherwise they will be precluded
from urging the same.
Given under my hand this 28th day of September,

did, on the fourteenth day of October instant, de-

Colonial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a specifi-
cation or instrument in writing, under his hand and
seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the
nature of the said Invention, and in what manner
the same is to be performed; and that, by reason of
such deposit the said Invention is protected and

months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify, that the said John Adam
Berg has given notice in writing, at my office, of his
intention to proceed with his application for Letters

tions thereto; and I do hereby require all persons
having an interest in opposing the grant of such
Letters Patent to leave, on or before the thirteenth
day of March next, at any office, in Wellington, par-
ticulars in writing of their objections to the said
application, otherwise they will be precluded from
urging the same.

tration Act, 1869."
ROBERT WITHERS, Member of the Royal
College of Surgeons of England, and a Practi-
tioner on the Medical Register of Great Britain, at
present residing in Dunedin, do hereby give notice
that I intend to apply to the Registrar of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages, at Dunedin, on the twenty-
second day of November next (1875), to have my
name placed on the Register of Medical Practitioners
in the Colony of New Zealand, and that I have
deposited in the office of the said Registrar the
evidence of my qualification in terms of "The Medi-
cal Practitioners Registration Act, 1869."
Dated at Dunedin, this 11th day of October, 1875.
