should be disallowed:
Now therefore, I, the Governor of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the authority vested in me in that
behalf by the said recited Act of Parliament, do
hereby proclaim and declare my disallowance of the
following Act, passed by the Superintendent and
Provincial Council of the Province of Otago,
namely,-
"The Cattle and Sheep Ordinance, 1875."
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House,
at Wellington, this nineteenth day of
August, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

operation.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Real Estate Descent Act,
1874," it is enacted that the said Act shall
come into operation from a day to be fixed by the
Governor by Proclamation in the Government
Gazette, and such day to be not less than three
months from the day upon which notice of Her
Majesty's approval of the same shall be published in
the said Gazette:
And whereas the said Act, reserved for the ex-
pression of Her Majesty's pleasure thereon, has been
submitted to Her Majesty in Council, and Her
Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same, and
such assent has been signified by a Proclamation
bearing date the twenty-eighth day of April last, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth
day of May last:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me as aforesaid, do
hereby fix and declare the first day of October next
to be the day on and from which "The Real Estate
Descent Act, 1874," shall come into operation within
the Colony of New Zealand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of August, 1875.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Bonded Warehouse Duty
Act, 1866," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that the occupier of any warehouse appointed for the
free warehousing and securing goods therein liable to
duty under the provisions of "The Customs Regula-
tion Act, 1858," shall pay to the Collector of Customs,
or such other officer as may from time to time be
appointed by the Commissioner of Customs for such
purpose, an annual duty according to the Schedule
thereto annexed: And whereas by "The Customs
Regulation Act Amendment Act, 1868," it is, amongst
other things, provided that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, by an Order for that purpose,
at any time to exempt from the payment of duty
chargeable under "The Bonded Warehouse Duty
Act, 1866," the owner or occupier of any warehouse
to be appointed after the passing of the Act now in
recital for the warehousing or securing of goods
liable to duty at any port, excepting those at
land, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Napier,
Nelson, Greymouth, Hokitika, Lyttelton, Christ-
church, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill:
And whereas application has been made for a License
for a Warehouse situate on the Strand Allotment,
Number 54, in the Port of Tauranga, of which Richard
Coles Jordan is the owner or occupier, and it is ex-
pedient that the owner or occupier of the said Ware-
house should be exempt from payment of the duty
chargeable under "The Bonded Warehouse Duty
Act, 1866:"
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
said power and authority, and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, do
hereby order that the occupiers and owners of the
said Warehouse shall be exempt from payment of the
duty chargeable thereon under "The Bonded Ware-
house Duty Act, 1866."
