as the Governor shall from time to time prescribe;
and that all lands taken under authority of the said
"New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and "The
New Zealand Settlements Amendment and Con-
tinuance Act, 1865," or either of them, and sold or
disposed of under the authority of the said first-recited
Act, shall be sold or disposed of under regulations to
be made by the Governor in Council, which regula-
tions shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:
And whereas it is expedient that the lands men-
tioned in the Regulations hereunder following should be
sold to the person therein named, as by the said
Regulations is provided:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise of all powers and authorities vested in him
in that behalf, doth hereby, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the Colony,
make the following Regulations for the sale and dis-
posal of the lands mentioned therein, and which said
lands have been taken under the said Acts, or some
or one of them.

REGULATIONS.

  1. It shall be lawful for the Officer in Charge of
    Confiscated Lands at Patea, to sell to Richard Thomas
    Blake, of Patea, at the upset price of two (2)
    pounds per acre, all those parcels of land in the Pro-
    vince of Taranaki, in the Colony of New Zealand,
    containing by admeasurement one hundred and sixty-
    one (161) acres and thirty-three (33) perches, more or
    less, situated in the Patea District, and being Sections
    numbered five hundred and sixty-one (561) and five
    hundred and sixty-four (564) on the map of the said
    district.
    Section numbered five hundred and sixty-one is
    bounded towards the North-east by Section numbered
    five hundred and sixty-two, three thousand eight
    hundred and sixty-five (3865) links; towards the
    South-east by a public road, three thousand one
    hundred and twenty (3120) links; towards the
    South-west by Section numbered five hundred and
    sixty, four thousand one hundred (4100) links; and
    towards the North-west by a public road, two
    thousand seven hundred and eighty-two (2782) links,
    four hundred and forty (440) links, and one hundred
    and thirteen (113) links. Excepting and reserving
    the road and railway reserve which runs through the
    said allotments, and for which reserve allowance has
    been made in the acreage.
    Section numbered five hundred and sixty-four
    (564) is bounded towards the North-east by Section
    numbered five hundred and sixty-three, two thousand
    eight hundred and twenty-eight (2828) links; towards
    the East by the Tawhiti Stream; towards the South-
    east by a public road, five hundred and thirty (530)
    links; towards the South-west by Section numbered
    five hundred and sixty-two, four thousand and ninety
    (4090) links; and towards the North-west by a
    public road, eleven thousand and forty-five (1145)
    links. Such sale shall be made by private contract,
    and the purchase money shall be paid by the said
    Richard Thomas Blake to the said Officer in Charge
    of Confiscated Lands.
  2. The sale hereby authorized to be made within
    one calendar month from the publication of these
    Regulations in the New Zealand Gazette, and the
    purchase money shall be paid within the like period.
    Upon payment of the purchase money a Crown grant
    shall be issued to the purchaser in like manner, and
    subject to the same terms and conditions, as if the
    said land had been purchased by the said purchaser
    at auction under the General Regulations now in
    force for the sale and disposal of lands taken under
    "The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and the
    several Acts amending the same.

Appointing place for holding Licensing Courts.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint that sittings of the Licensing Courts for the
Licensing Districts of Kaitangata, Matau, Balmoral,
South Molyneux, Clutha, Clinton, Popotuna, Clyde-
vale, and Catlin's, shall, until otherwise ordered, be
held at the Resident Magistrate's Court House at
Balclutha.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depend-
encies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this thirtieth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five.

Notification of Reserve for Public Purposes, under
"The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1874."

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and excercise of the power and
authority me vested in this behalf by the Regu-
lations for the Sale and Disposal of Waste Lands
in the Province of Westland, I hereby reserve the
lands in the said Province of Westland, the bound-
aries whereof are described in the Schedule hereunto
annexed, for the uses of the Colonial Government,
and other public purposes, as in the Schedule is more
particularly specified.

SCHEDULE.

RESERVE No. 101, containing one acre, more or less,
situate in the Town of Kanieri; bounded on the
North-westward by Papanui Street, two hundred
links; on the North-eastward by Cobden's Quay,
four hundred links; on the South-eastward by a line
at a right angle with Cobden's Quay, three hundred
links; and on the South-westward by a straight line
four hundred and twelve linksโ€”for Public Hall
purposes.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
