Appointing place for Licensing Court.
NORMANBY,
Administrator of the Government.
WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act 1873 Amend-
ment Act, 1874," it is enacted that every
Licensing Court shall hold its meetings in the Court
House used as a Court House by the Resident Magis-
trate or Court of Petty Sessions in the Licensing
District, or if there be no such Court House in such
district, then the Court shall hold its meetings at
such place as may from time to time be appointed
by the Governor: And whereas there is no Court
House in the District of Grey: And whereas by a
warrant dated the thirtieth October, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-four, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, the
Resident Magistrate's Court House, Cobden, was
appointed to be the place at which the Licensing
Court for the said Licensing District of Grey should
hold its meetings: And whereas it is expedient to
appoint some other place in lieu thereof:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me in this behalf, do hereby appoint
The Resident Magistrate's Court House, Ahaura,
to be the place at which the Licensing Court for the
said
Licensing District of Grey
shall hold its meetings, instead of the said Resident
Magistrate's Court House, Cobden.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom, and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George; Administrator of the
Government in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depend-
encies; at the Government House at
Wellington, this sixth day of January,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-five.

Governors of the New Zealand Institute appointed.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The New Zealand Institute Act,
1867," provision is made for the appointment
of Members of a Board of Governors of the New
Zealand Institute, and it is enacted that on the first
day of November, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-eight, and on the first day of November in each
succeeding year, three members of the said Board of
Governors (other than the Governor, the Colonial
Secretary, and the Superintendent of the Province
of Wellington, respectively, for the time being), shall
retire from office, but shall be eligible for reappoint-
ment: And whereas William Thomas Locke Travers,
Esq., F.L.S., Sir David Monro, Knight, and the
Honorable Edward William Stafford, F.R.G.S.,
M.H.R., three of the members of the said Board of
Governors, have retired from office, and are eligible for
reappointment under the provisions of the said Act:
And whereas by the said Act it is also provided
that, on the annual retirement of the said members,
the successors of such retiring members shall be
appointed by the Governor :
