NEW ZEALAND
GAZETTE

WELLINGTON, FRIDAY, JUNE 18, 1875.

In the matter of a Bill to be intituled "The
Napier Swamp Nuisance Act, 1875."

NOTICE is hereby given, that application is in-
tended to be made at the ensuing session of
the General Assembly of New Zealand, by the Cor-
poration of the Borough of Napier, for leave to bring
in a Bill to abate a nuisance caused by the flooding
of certain lands with stagnant water within the said
Borough, and to grant to the said Corporation the
following powers:-

  1. To give notice to owners of lands in schedule
    mentioned, requiring them to keep the said lands
    free from stagnant water.
  2. In case of default, power for the said Corpora-
    tion to enter upon and fill up the said lands.
  3. To recover from the owners of said lands the
    costs of reclaiming the same.

The lands intended to be reclaimed are described
in the schedule.

Copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited at
the office of the Examiner, Wellington, either before
or within fourteen days after the commencement of
the ensuing session of Parliament.

A plan showing the said lands, and copies of the
Gazette notice, will be deposited at the office of the
Commissioner of Crown Lands, Napier, thirty days
before the ensuing session of Parliament.
