the designation of the Post Office in the Province
of Auckland, known as Tapuaeharuru, has been
changed to
TAUPO.

Notification of Resignation of Seat in the House of
Representatives for Electoral District of Wairau.
I N compliance with the provisions of the 13th
section of "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," I hereby notify that ARTHUR P. SEYMOUR,
Esq., has resigned his seat in the House of Represen-
tatives for the Electoral District of Wairau, and that
such resignation was received by me on the 14th day
of May, 1875, and that the said seat is vacant by
reason of such resignation.

Company's (Limited) Empowering Act, 1875."
N OTICE is hereby given, that application is
intended to be made at the next Session of
the General Assembly of New Zealand, for leave to
bring in a Bill to be intituled "THE DUNEDIN,
PENINSULA, AND OCEAN BEACH RAILWAY COMPANY'S
(LIMITED) EMPOWERING ACT, 1875."
And notice is hereby given, that by the said Bill
it is intended to validate and confirm the constitution
of the said Company, as expressed in its memorandum
and articles of association, and to legalize the acts
and proceedings of the said Company and the
Directors thereof.
And notice is hereby also given, that by the said
Bill it is intended to acquire, on behalf of the said
Company, power to construct, maintain, and work,
with locomotive or other engines and rolling stock, a
line or lines of railway from Dunedin, in the Pro-
vince of Otago, to the Ocean Beach and to Portobello,
in the same Province; and for the purposes aforesaid
to acquire compulsorily, on payment of adequate
compensation, all lands necessary therefor, whether
such lands shall belong to the Crown and be covered
