Tenders for Bookbinding.
Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 2nd March, 1875.
TENDERS for Bookbinding required by the New Zealand Government during the twelve calendar months commencing from the 1st April next, will be received at this Office until noon on Monday, the 15th instant.
CONDITIONS.
The Contractor will be required to execute such work only as the Government Printer may find it necessary to give out.
All work placed in the hands of the binder must be executed as expeditiously as possible. Any unnecessary delay will render the Contractor liable to have the work taken out of his hands and executed elsewhere; any extra expense incurred in so doing to be made good by the Contractor.
The Contractor to submit samples of the leather and cloth with his tender.
The tender to include cost of carriage to and from the Printing Office.
Tenderers failing to take up their accepted tenders, will be disqualified from tendering for Government work for a period of twelve months.
The Government will not necessarily accept the lowest or any tender.
A bond for the sum of £300—the Contractor in the sum of £100, and two approved sureties £100 each—for the due performance of the contract, will be required to be entered into within a month of the acceptance of the tender; failing which the contract may be again advertised, or another tender accepted.
Tenders must be enclosed in an envelope marked “Tender for Bookbinding,” and deposited in the Tender Box at the Colonial Secretary’s Office, Wellington, or (if sent by post) addressed to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
