Inquiry for a Missing Person.

Wellington, 17th November, 1874.

INQUIRIES have been made respecting
GEORGE ETHERINGTON,
late a Private in the 65th Regiment, which he left
about ten years ago. He was last heard of by his
friends in England about six years ago, when he was
at New Plymouth, Taranaki. He is supposed to
been in Wanganui about three months ago,
but is not residing there at present.

Any person who may be able to give information
respecting the above-named person, either as to his
death or present place of abode, is requested to com-
municate with this office, where a letter is lying for
him.

PORT WAKEFIELD LIGHT.

NOTICE is hereby given, that on and after Sunday,
the 1st of November, 1874, a Red Light will be ex-
hibited at Port Wakefield, in lieu of the present
White Light.

PORT ADELAIDE LIGHTHOUSE.
St. Vincent's Gulf.

REFERRING to a notification from this Department,
on the 28th August, 1873, with reference to the pro-
posed substitution of a Revolving Light for the
present White Light at the Port Adelaide Lighthouse,
it is hereby made known that, from unavoidable
causes, the construction of the lens apparatus has
been delayed; but the new light will probably be
exhibited on or about the 1st January, 1875.

Chamber, Wellington, at 10 o'clock of the forenoon
of Monday, the 23rd day of November, 1874.
