IT is hereby notified, that, in conformity with clause
133 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,"
the name of the under-mentioned person has been
sent in to this Office by the Town Clerk as having
been elected Mayor for the borough set opposite his

THE following Proclamation by the Victorian
Government, revoking a former Proclamation
rendering Vessels from Lyttelton liable to quaran-
tine, is published for general information.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE FERGUSON BOWEN,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
the Colony of Victoria and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation under the hand of the
Governor and the Seal of the Colony bearing date
the fifteenth day of June last, and issued in pursu-
ance of "The Public Health Statute, 1865," it was
notified that the Port of Lyttelton, in New Zealand,
was infected with small-pox, and that it was probable
that such disease might be brought from such place to
Victoria: And whereas the circumstances which
led to the issue of such Proclamation have ceased to
exist: Now therefore I, the Governor of Victoria,
with the advice of the Executive Council, do hereby
revoke the Proclamation hereinbefore mentioned.
Given under my hand and the Seal of the
Colony, at Melbourne, this fourteenth
day of September, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four, and in the thirty - eighth
year of Her Majesty's reign.
