Station for Quarantine appointed.

A PROCLAMATION.
W
HEREAS by "The Public Health Act, 1872,"
it is, amongst other things, enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, by any order
notified by Proclamation in the Gazette, appoint
certain stations within or near any harbour or place
within New Zealand for the performance of quaran-
tine, under the Third Part of the said Act, where all
vessels liable to quarantine, and the crews, passengers,
and persons on board thereof, shall perform the
same: And whereas it is expedient to appoint the
place mentioned in the Schedule hereto as the station
where vessels arriving at the Port of Picton, liable
to quarantine, and the crews, passengers, and persons
on board thereof, shall perform the same:
Now therefore, I, the Right Honorable Sir James
Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority vested in me for that purpose, do,
by this Proclamation, order and appoint that the
place named and described in the Schedule hereto
shall be, and the same is hereby appointed to be,
the Station for the performance of Quarantine under
the Third Part of the said Act, in the case of vessels
liable to quarantine, and the crews, passengers, and
persons on board thereof, arriving at the Port of
Picton.
SCHEDULE.
THE whole of the island known as Somes Island,
situate in the Port Nicholson Harbour, and the water
frontage around the said island within half a mile
from its shore.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this twenty-
sixth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four.

Taking and laying off for public purposes a curved
Road from Kawa Kawa Coal Mines to Kawa Kawa
River.

T is hereby notified, that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to take and lay off
for public use as a road and tramway, a curved road,
one chain wide, from the Kawa Kawa Coal Mines;
commencing at the southern boundary of the Te
Wharau Block, and ending at the derrick erected on
the edge of the Kawa Kawa River; as delineated on
the district map in the office of the Inspector of
Surveys. And to take for that purpose out of the
several pieces of land granted under the Native
Lands Acts, as named in the Schedule hereto, the
quantities of land respectively stated therein, in
accordance with the 106th section of "The Native
Land Act, 1873."
Dated at Wellington, this 21st day of August,
1874.

Fixing Sittings of District Court, Otago Gold Fields.

I
N pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir
James Fergusson, Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of
the District Court of the Otago Gold Fields, during
the months of October and November next, shall be
held as follows:--
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Naseby
on the second Wednesday in October next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Clyde on
the Monday next after the second Wednesday
in October next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Queens-
town on the Monday second after the second
Wednesday in October next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Lawrence
on the second Tuesday in November next.
Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the
Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the
first day thereafter, not being a holiday.
Issued this twentieth day of August, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

T is hereby notified for public information, that,
under the provisions of "The Public Health Act,
1872," His Excellency the Governor has been pleased
to appoint the under-mentioned gentleman to be a
Public Vaccinator to perform gratuitous vaccination
in accordance with the provisions of the said Act,
and any regulations made or to be made thereunder,
for the District mentioned in the Schedule hereto,
and set opposite his name.
