liable to quarantine arriving at the Bluff Harbour:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said Procla-
mation, and to appoint the place mentioned in the
Schedule hereto as the station where vessels arriving
at the Bluff Harbour, liable to quarantine, and the
crews, passengers, and persons on board thereof, shall
perform the same:

Now therefore, I, the Right Honorable Sir James
Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority vested in me for that purpose, do
hereby cancel and revoke the said hereinbefore in
part recited Proclamation of the fifth day of Novem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three;
and further, by this Proclamation do order and
appoint that the place named and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is hereby
appointed to be, the Station for the performance of
Quarantine under the Third Part of the said Act, in
the case of vessels liable to quarantine, and the crews,
passengers, and persons on board thereof, arriving at
the Bluff Harbour.

SCHEDULE.
QUARANTINE GROUND, BLUFF HARBOUR.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Province of
Otago, situated in the Campbelltown Hundred, and
containing about three hundred (300) acres, more or
less, above high watermark. Bounded—towards the
East by a line drawn from the Bluff Harbour to the
ocean parallel to and forty (40) chains east of east
boundary of Section four (4) of said hundred, a
distance of about seventy (70) chains; towards the
South by the road reserve, one hundred (100) links
wide, above the high watermark of the ocean, about
forty-three (43) chains; towards the West by Section
four (4), a distance of three thousand two hundred
and fifty-five (3255) links; again towards the South
and South-east by Section four (4), a distance of two
thousand eight hundred and fifty-five (2855) links
and one thousand (1000) links; and towards the
North-west and North by Bluff Harbour, about one
hundred (100) chains, together with the water
frontage along the said Bluff Harbour, twenty
(20) chains from the shore. Also all the anchorage
ground in the North Arm bounded on the South-east
by a line from Duck Creek Point to Observation
Spot; on the North-east by a line from Te Waewae
Point to the easternmost of the Low Rocky Islets; on
the North-west by a line from Trig. Station M on
North Shore to the rocky islet near the old village of
Te Whero; and on the South-west by a line from
Te Waewae Point to the south end of Spencer's
Island.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four.

Fixing Annual Meeting for the Mahurangi District
under Petty Sessions Act.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that as soon as conveniently may
be after the establishment of a Petty Sessions
District, and afterwards from time to time as may be
deemed expedient, the Governor shall, by Procla-
mation in the New Zealand Gazette, appoint a meeting
of the Justices of the Peace resident in such district
to be yearly held within such district, at some
specified time and place, for the purpose of choosing
a Chairman of Petty Sessions and settling a rota of
attendance: And whereas by an Order in Council
bearing date the twenty-seventh day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, the Petty
Sessions District (amongst others) of Mahurangi was
defined and established:

And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the
fourteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-two, the Public Hall in the township of
Warkworth was appointed to be the place, and the
first Monday in the month of July the time, at which
a meeting of the Justices of the Peace resident
within such district should be yearly held, for the
purpose of choosing a Chairman of Petty Sessions
and settling a rota of attendance: And whereas no
meeting was held at the place appointed on the first
Monday of July last:

Now therefore, I, the Right Honorable Sir James
Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of
the power and authority in that behalf vested in
me, do hereby proclaim and appoint that for the
said Mahurangi District a meeting of the Justices of
the Peace resident within such district shall be yearly
held at the Public Hall in the township of Warkworth,
at twelve o'clock noon on the first Monday in the
month of September, for the purpose of choosing a
Chairman of Petty Sessions and settling a rota of
attendance.

HEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, at any time and from time to
time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her
Majesty or dispose of in such other manner as for
the public interest may seem best, such of the waste
lands of the Crown in any of the provinces of the
colony as may be required for the purposes of mili-
tary defence, or for the construction of trunk lines
of road, or as sites for public buildings for the use of
the General Government, or for other purposes of
public utility or convenience:

And whereas the parcel of land specified and de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto has been used as a
General Government reserve as a site for a block-
house, and for military purposes:
