the power and authority conferred on him by the said
Act, the Governor has at divers times, and under
and by virtue of divers Proclamations published in
the New Zealand Gazette, proclaimed and declared
certain districts within the Province of Auckland to
be districts within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, and has appointed Inspectors for the
said districts: And whereas it is expedient to pro-
claim one district within the said Province for the
purposes of the said Act, in lieu of the districts
known as the Auckland, Otahuhu, Waikato, and
Raglan Districts respectively:

Now therefore, I, the Right Honorable Sir James
Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of New Zealand,
in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby pro-
claim and declare that, for the purposes of the said
Act, there shall be within the said Province of Auck-
land a division or district which shall embrace the
whole of the Province of Auckland, exclusive of the
district known as "The Hauraki Weights and Mea-
sures District," proclaimed on the sixteenth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy,
and published in Gazette number fourteen, of the
seventeenth of March, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy, and that the several districts heretofore
proclaimed and known as the Auckland, Otahuhu,
Waikato, and Raglan Districts, respectively, shall
cease to be districts under the said Act: Provided
that nothing herein contained shall affect the district
proclaimed on the sixteenth day of March, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy, and known as the
Hauraki District, which said last-mentioned district
shall be and remain a district under the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this twenty-
second day of June, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four.

Renewing Order in Council bringing Sections 20 to
45 of the Public Health Act into force in the
Province of Westland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of June, 1874.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the nineteenth section of "The
Public Health Act, 1872," it is enacted that
the Governor in Council may make orders from time
to time directing that the provisions thereinafter in
that part of the said Act contained, or any of them, be
put in force in New Zealand, or in such parts thereof,
or in such places therein, as in such orders respectively
may be expressed, and may in like manner revoke or
renew any such order; and, subject to revocation or
renewal as aforesaid, every such order shall be in
force for six calendar months from the publication of
such order, or for such shorter period as in such order
shall be expressed, and no longer; and every such
order shall be published in the General Government
Gazette, and such publication shall be conclusive
evidence of such order to all intents and purposes;
and none of the said provisions shall be in force in
any part of New Zealand until an order directing the
same to be put in force shall have been made and
published as aforesaid: And whereas by an Order in
Council bearing date the seventeenth day of September
last, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the eighteenth day of September last, His Excellency
the Governor did thereby, in exercise and pursuance
of all power and authority in that behalf in him
vested, direct that the provisions contained in the
sections of the said Act numbered from twenty-one to
forty-five, both inclusive, should be put in force in
those districts of the Province of Westland men-
tioned in the Schedule to the said Order in Council:
And whereas the period of six calendar months
within which the said Order in Council should remain
in force has expired, and it is desirable and expedient
to renew the same:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and
in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
aforesaid, doth hereby direct that the said Order in
Council shall be and the same is hereby renewed.
