be held in the Provincial Government Buildings at
Napier, in the Province of Hawke's Bay, in every
year, at intervals of not less than six nor more than
seventeen days between the first day of each sitting:
And at the Court House at Waipawa, in the said
Province, at intervals of not less than fifty-six nor
more than sixty-three days between the first day of
each sitting: And at the Court House at Gisborne,
in the said District, at intervals of not less than
ninety-one nor more than one hundred and five days
between the first day of each sitting.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of Novem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

Fixing Sittings of District Court, Otago Gold Fields.

JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir
James Fergusson, Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of
the District Court of the Otago Gold Fields, during
the months of February and March next, shall be
held as follows:-

In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Naseby
on the second Wednesday in February next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Clyde
on the Monday next after the second Wednes-
day in February next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Queens-
town on the Monday second after the second
Wednesday in February next.
In the Resident Magistrate's Court at Lawrence
on the second Tuesday in March next.

Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the
Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the
first day thereafter, not being a holiday.

Issued this twenty-fourth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
three.

Value of Improvements added to Upset Price of
Sections to be sold.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in
me for that purpose by the fifty-ninth section of
"The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870," I do hereby
approve of the recommendation of the Waste Lands
Board of the County of Westland, that the value of
the improvements on the sections mentioned in the
following Schedule of Lands to be put up to auction
by the Waste Lands Board on Tuesday, the 25th of
November, 1873, shall be added to the upset price of
the said sections.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued at Christchurch, this
twenty-second day of November, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-three.

Zealand prohibited.

THE following Proclamation issued by the Govern-
ment of Victoria, prohibiting the introduction
of Cattle &c. from New Zealand, is published for
general information.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE FERGUSON BOWEN,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
the Colony of Victoria and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by an Act of the Parliament of Victoria,
passed in the thirty-first year of Her Majesty's reign
(31 Vict. No. 310), intituled "An Act to amend the
Laws relating to or affecting Public Health," it is
amongst other things enacted that the Governor in
Council may from time to time make, alter, or vary,
and may revoke, such orders as may seem to be
necessary for the purpose of prohibiting or regulating
the introduction into Victoria, from any country or
colony, or part of a country or colony (in which
respectively any disease in sheep, cattle, horses, swine,
or other animals of the same or any other kind or
kinds whatsoever, is known to exist), of all sheep,
cattle, horses, swine, or other animals of the same or
any other kind or kinds whatsoever; or of meat, skins,
hides, horns, hoofs, or other parts of any animals; or
of hay, straw, fodder, or other articles likely to propa-
gate amongst men or other animals any infectious
or contagious disease whatsoever; And whereas at
the Intercolonial Conference held at Sydney in the
present year it was agreed to prohibit, for a period
of two years from and after the publication of a notice
in the London Times, the landing of cattle, sheep,
and pigs from any places beyond the limits of the
Australasian Colonies in any of the Colonies repre-
sented at such Conference: And whereas the Govern-
ment of New Zealand has not published the prescribed
notice: Now therefore, I, the Governor of Victoria,
with the advice of the Executive Council, do hereby
prohibit the introduction from New Zealand into
Victoria of all cattle, sheep, and pigs, or of meat,
skins, hides, horns, hoofs, or other parts of any animals,
or of hay, straw, fodder, or other articles likely to
propagate the diseases which the said Intercolonial
Conference had it in view to guard against, until such
time as the Government of New Zealand shall have
issued and published such prescribed notice in the
London Times, in accordance with the agreement
adopted at the said Intercolonial Conference.

Given under my hand and the Seal of the
Colony, at Melbourne, this twenty-fourth
day of October, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
three, and in the thirty-seventh year of
Her Majesty's reign.
