hereinafter mentioned (with other districts), as the
said districts were described in the Schedule thereto,
and did bring the same under the operation of the
said Act. And whereas it is expedient to withdraw
the said districts of Mangonui, Bay of Islands, and
Kaipara from the operation of the said Act, and to
define other districts in lieu thereof :
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fer-
gusson, Baronet, the Governor of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby withdraw the
said Districts of Mangonui, Bay of Islands, and
Kaipara from the operation of the said Act : And
in further exercise and pursuance of the said power
and authority, and with the like advice and consent
as aforesaid, doth hereby proclaim and declare that
the districts defined in the Schedule hereto shall be
districts under and for the purposes of the said Act,
excepting any towns or parts of towns included in
the said districts.
SCHEDULE.
MANGONUI.
ALL that portion of the Province of Auckland which
lies northward of a line drawn from Herekino (False
Hokianga) to the summit of Maungataniwha ;
thence a line to the westernmost part of
Omapere Lake ; and thence by a line to Flat Island,
including said island and all adjacent islands.
HOKIANGA.
ALL that portion of land, bounded by a line from
Herekino (False Hokianga) to summit of Maunga-
taniwha ; thence by a line to the westernmost part of
Omapere Lake ; thence by a line to Maunganui Bluff ;
and on the West by the sea.
BAY OF ISLANDS.
ALL that portion of land, bounded on the North-
west by the Mangonui and Hokianga districts herein-
before defined ; towards the North and East by the
sea ; towards the South by the southern boundaries
of the Counties of Bedford and Hokianga.

Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same ; and issued under the Seal of
the said Colony, at Wellington, this
tenth day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-three.

Special Sitting of the Westland Waste Lands Board.
JAMES FERGUSSON, Governor.
WHEREAS on the twenty-eighth day of August
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-one, in pursuance of the powers
vested in the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand by "The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,"
certain days were appointed to be the days on which
the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland
should sit at the principal Land Office of the said
County, in the Town of Hokitika : And whereas by
the said recited Act it is among other things enacted
that the principal Land Office of the said County and
Waste Lands Board shall sit there, and at certain
stated times, to be determined from time to time by
the Governor as therein mentioned, and shall also
sit for special purposes at such places and at such
times as the Governor shall from time to time direct :
And whereas it is expedient to appoint a special day
for the sitting of the said Board :
Now therefore, I, Sir James Fergusson, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the power and authority vested in me in that
behalf by " The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,"
do hereby fix and determine that a special sitting of
the Waste Lands Board for the County of Westland
shall be held in the Resident Magistrate's Court, at
Greymouth, on Thursday, the thirtieth day of
October next, at noon, for the purpose of the sale by
auction of suburban land in the Grey District.

Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and autho-
rities enabling me in this behalf, I, Sir James
Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor of New Zealand,
do hereby fix the Tolls specified in the First Schedule
hereto, as the Tolls to be taken in and upon the
Tramroad from Foxton to Palmerston ; and also the
Tolls specified in the Second Schedule hereto, as the
Tolls to be taken in and upon the Wharf and Store
at Foxton.
Given under my hand at Wellington, this
tenth day of September, one thousand
