this 2nd instant), under the provisions of "The
Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," been pleased to ap-
prove of the following appointment made by His
Honor the Superintendent of Otago, with the advice
and consent of his Executive Council: -

of Elderslie, Oamaru, to be a Commissioner of the
Otago Waste Lands Board.

WETINI MAHIKAI
to be an Assessor for the purposes of "The Resident
Magistrates Act, 1867," "The Native Circuit Courts
Act, 1858," and "The Native Circuit Courts Act
Amendment Act, 1862," within the District of Raglan.
This appointment dates from the 1st day of January,
1873.

Lands withdrawn from Reservation.
PURSUANT to the regulations for the sale,
disposal, and occupation of lands taken under
the provisions of "The New Zealand Settlements
Act, 1863," and "The New Zealand Settlements
Amendment and Continuance Act, 1865," and which
said regulations are contained in the Schedule to an
Order in Council made and issued on the 11th day
of May, 1871, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the 1st of June, in the same year, it is
hereby notified that the parcels of land specified in
the Schedule hereto (and which lands were, on the
3rd of August, 1871, reserved for the purpose therein
mentioned), will, on the expiration of three calendar
