IT is notified for public information that
Mr. JOSEPH Cox, Waipori, Otago, and
Mr. H. BONNINGTON RICHMOND, Nelson,
have been appointed Licensed Distributors of Duty
Stamps.

Notice of Resignation of Seat in the House of Repre-
sentatives for Electoral District of Mongonui
and Bay of Islands.
IN compliance with the provisions of the 13th
Section of "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," I hereby notify that JOHN MCLEOD, Esq.,
resigned his seat in the House of Representatives,
for the Electoral District of Mongonui and Bay of
Islands, on the 23rd day of May, 1873; that such
resignation was received by me this day; and that
the said seat is vacant by reason of such resignation.

April, 1873, for the election of a Member to serve in
the House of Representatives of New Zealand for
the Electoral District hereinafter specified; and by
the indorsement on such Writ it appears that the
under-mentioned gentleman has been duly elected
Member for such District, viz. :-

Information re Missing Persons required.

ENQUIRIES having been made respecting the
missing persons named JOSEPH WOODLEY and
WILLIAM PEARCE, whose descriptions are given
below, persons who are able to give any information
respecting them are requested to communicate with
this office.

Description of Joseph Woodley.---Height about 6
feet, hazel eyes, dark brown curly hair, stands very
erect. Trade: able seaman, digger, and various.
From 30 to 35 years of age. Sailed from the East India

Docks on the 15th May, 1868, in the ship "Sala-
mander," as an able seaman. Was heard of in
Dunedin in September, 1868. Served for ten years
in H.M. Navy. Has large scar round his scalp,
beginning from the top of his forehead, under his
hair, which covered it. Supposed to have been killed
in a fight at some diggings in New Zealand.
Description of William (Melhuish) Pearce.-
Height 5 feet 7 inches, well built, dark complexion,
black hair turning grey, dark full piercing eyes,
slight stoop, age about 60. Occupation, gold digger.
Sailed from East India Docks in the "Chile," on the
8th September, 1865; arrived at Otago, December,
1865. Heard of in Dunedin in April, 1870. Before
leaving England in 1854, was for some years engaged
as Inspector on the Cornwall Railway.

Fixing date of Inquiry by Commission of Judges of
the Native Lands Court.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Commissioners
appointed for the purposes mentioned in a
certain notification signed by them, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 10th day of April
last past, will sit at Gisborne, at Turanganui, in the
Province of Auckland, on Tuesday, the 5th day of
August next, at the hour of 11 o'clock in the fore-
noon, for the purpose of proceeding with the inquiry
and adjudication therein mentioned:
This notice is given in pursuance of the notifica-
tion hereinbefore referred to, and all claimants and
other persons referred to in the Commission appoint-
ing the undersigned to act in the premises, are
requested to attend at the time and place of which
notice is hereby given.

I, WILLIAM PATRICK CRAUFORD, Regis-
trar of Joint Stock Companies, do hereby notify
that I have this day registered a Memorandum of
Association (with Articles annexed), establishing a
Company, with limited liability of the shareholders
therein, entitled
"The Kanieri Lake Water Race Company,
Limited."
The objects for which the Company is established
are expressed to be-"The construction of a Head
Water Race from the Kanieri Lake, extending along
the terraces towards Hokitika, and for supplying and
selling water for mining and other purposes."
And I further notify, that, in pursuance of the pro-
visions of "The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860,"
and of "The Stamp Act Amendment Act, 1871," re-
