thence by the Mount Benger District and the
Clutha River to a point due east of the summit;
thence west to the summit; thence by the Tapanui
Ranges to the Pomahaka River at the Waipaki
Junction; and thence towards the South by a line
due west to the Pukerau Stream, and by the
Pukerau Stream to the Waikaka Stream, the starting
point.

  1. LOWER MATAURA DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line pro-
    ceeding from the Mataura River, along the southern
    boundary of Run 131, to the Waipahi River; thence
    in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries
    of Runs numbered respectively 132, 251, and 161, to
    Run 177; thence along the Tautuku bush boundaries
    of Runs 177, 62, and 61, to the ocean; thence in
    a westerly direction by the ocean beach to the
    Mataura River; and thence in a northerly direction
    along the Mataura River to the starting point.

  2. WINTON DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the East by the Mataura River from
    its source to the north boundary of Run 329; thence
    by a line due west to the Oreti River; thence by
    said river and the east boundary of Run 146, the
    Oripiri Stream, and the east boundary of the
    Winton Hundred; on the South by the south
    boundaries of the Winton and Oreti Hundreds to the
    Waimatuku River; thence by said river to its source;
    thence by a right line north-west to cut the Aparima;
    on the West by the Aparima to its junction with the
    Hamilton Burn; thence by a right line north to the
    Oreti; thence by the Oreti to its junction with the
    Windley River; and on the North-west by the
    north-west boundary of the late Province of South-
    land.

  3. INVERCARGILL DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the East by the Mataura; on the
    South by the Campbelltown District and the ocean;
    on the West by the Waimatuku River to the south-
    west corner of the Oreti Hundred; and on the North
    and West by the Winton District.

  4. CAMPBELLTOWN DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the East by the Mataura; on the
    South by the ocean; on the West by the estuary of
    the New River; and on the North by the Mokomoko
    Inlet and a right line from the south-east corner
    thereof drawn east to cut the Mataura.

  5. STEWART'S ISLAND DISTRICT.
    Comprises Stewart's Island, Sclanders' Island,
    Ruapuke Island, and the other islands adjacent
    thereto.

  6. RIVERTON DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the East by the Invercargill District;
    on the South by the ocean; on the West by the
    Waiau; and on the North by the north boundary
    of the Province.

  7. WAKATIPU DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded towards the North
    by the Province of Canterbury; towards the East by
    the Cromwell, Arrow, Dunstan, and the Nokomai
    and Switzers Districts; towards the South by the
    Province of Southland and the ocean; and towards
    the West by the ocean.

  8. ARROW DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded towards the North
    and East by the Cromwell and Dunstan Districts;
    towards the South by the Kawarau River; and on
    the West by the watershed of the Shotover and
    Arrow Rivers.

  9. DUNSTAN DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line pro-
    ceeding from the north-western boundary of the
    Manuherikia District, along Chatto Burn, to the
    Dunstan Mountains; thence along the Dunstan
    Mountains south-westerly to the Clutha River;
    across the Clutha River and over Cairnmuir Hill to
    the Carrick Ranges, and by the Carrick Ranges to
    the Kawarau River; thence by the Kawarau River
    to a point due north of Ben Nevis; thence by the
    range to Lorn Peak; thence by the Nokomai and
    Switzers and the Manuherikia Districts to the
    starting point.

  10. NOKOMAI AND SWITZERS DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line from
    Lorn Peak, near the southern extremity of Lake
    Wakatipu, westwards to a point in the boundary of
    the late Province of Southland two miles above the
    junction of the Allanburn with the River Mataura,
    which forms the said Provincial boundary; thence
    southwards along the Mataura River to the junction
    of the Waikaka Stream; thence northwards along the
    Waikaka to the source of its eastern branch; thence
    to the Leithen Stream, and by the Leithen Stream
    to the Pomahaka River, and by the Pomahaka
    River to the junction of Spylaw Burn; thence
    straight to Wart Hill; thence by the Umbrella
    Mountains to a point due west of Jordan Creek, at
    its junction with the Clutha River; thence by the
    ranges to Rocky Mountain; thence direct to Lorn
    Peak, the starting point.

  11. MOUNT BENGER DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line pro-
    ceeding from the north-west corner of Gabriel's
    District in a northerly direction, and parallel to
    the Clutha River, to Spylaw Burn at its source;
    thence by Spylaw to the Pomahaka River; thence to
    Wart Hill; thence to White Coomb; thence by the
    Umbrella Mountains to a point due west of Jordan
    Creek; thence to Jordan Creek at its junction with
    the Clutha River; thence to South Roughridge Hill;
    thence along the western boundary of Hamilton
    District to the Lammerlaw; and thence in a south-
    westerly direction by the boundary line of Gabriel's
    District to the starting point.

  12. MANUHERIKIA DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line proceed-
    ing in a westerly direction from White Coomb to the
    Wakaia River; thence by the Wakaia River to the
    White Coomb Creek; thence by the Ranges to Rocky
    Mount; thence to the Obelisk; thence in a northerly
    direction to a point due west of Earnscleugh Burn;
    thence to Earnscleugh Burn at its junction with the
    Clutha River; thence parallel to the Manuherikia
    River to Spottis Burn; thence in a southerly direction
    to the Raggedy Range, and by the watershed of
    Manor Burn to South Roughridge Hill; thence in a
    westerly direction by the boundary of Mount Benger
    District.

  13. BLACKS DISTRICT.
    Comprises all that area bounded by a line proceed-
    ing from the Dunstan Mountains in a south-
    easterly direction to and along Lauder Creek to the
    Manuherikia River, and along the Manuherikia
    River to the junction of Ida Burn; thence along Ida
    Burn to the junction of Pool Burn; thence in a
    direct line south-easterly to Roughridge; thence
    southerly to South Roughridge Hill; thence along the
    north-eastern boundary of Manuherikia District to
    Chatto Burn; thence north-westerly along Chatto
    Burn to its source; thence in a direct line to
    Leaning Rock Hill; and thence north-easterly along
    the Dunstan Mountains to the starting point.
