ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirtieth day of October, 1872.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Post Office Savings Bank
Act, 1867,"
it is enacted that it shall be law-
ful for the Governor in Council to make, and from
time to time, as he shall see occasion, to alter regula-
tions for superintending, inspecting, and regulating
the accounts of Depositors, and with respect to the
making of deposits, and to the withdrawal of deposits
and interest, and to all other matters incidental to
the carrying the above-recited Act into execution:

And whereas by an Order in Council made the second
day of November, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-nine, the Governor did, in pursuance of the said
recited power and authority, make the regulations
specified in the Schedule thereinafter written, and
amongst other things provision was thereby made for
the transmission of the balance of deposits from one
Province to another in the manner therein mentioned:

And whereas, in order that advantage may not be
taken of the said provision by Depositors for the
mere purpose of remitting money, it is expedient that
an additional regulation should be made:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the said
recited power and authority, and by and with the
consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony,
doth make the additional Regulation specified in the
Schedule hereinafter written, and further doth declare
that this order shall take effect on and after the first
day of November, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-two.

SCHEDULE.
It shall not be lawful for any Depositor to transfer
the balance of his deposits from one Province or
Postal District to another, unless the account in
respect of which such balance shall be payable has

been open three months in the Province or Postal
District from which the Depositor may require it to
be transferred.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1870,"
it is enacted that it shall be be
lawful for the Governor, by W Warrant under his hand,
from time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District, within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the Principal Polling Place for the.
District, and all or any of such Polling Places from
time to time to abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint
other Polling Places in lieu of those abolished, and
that every such Warrant shall be published in the
New Zealand Gazette: Provided always that no
Polling Place shall be appointed by the Governor
under the said Act, unless he shall be first satisfied
that the place to be appointed is more convenient
than any other for at least twenty electors to record
their votes thereat.

And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, certain places were appointed Polling
Places in the Province of Nelson for the election of
Members of the Provincial Council thereof, for the
District of Grey:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same:
Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act, do
hereby abolish all existing Polling Places for the
above-named District in the Province of Nelson, for
the election of Members of the Provincial Council,
and do appoint in lieu thereofβ€”

For the District of Grey:
The Court House, Ahaura;
The Court House, Cobden;
The Police Station, No Town;
The Police Station, Half-Ounce;
Mr. George Muir's Store, Nelson Creek.
