NOTICE.

TELEGRAMS VIA PORT DARWIN AND THE JAVA
CABLE.

THE following Tariff Rates on Telegrams for the
under-mentioned places via Port Darwin and
the Java Cable, are published for general informa-
tion, and will supersede those published in the New
Zealand Gazette, No. 12, 5th March, 1872.

Submarine Telegraph Company, Limited; Anglo-

For each 10 or fraction of 10 words above 20, one
half of above rates will be charged.

Postage on messages to South America from
Lisbon, one shilling; on messages to Mauritius and
Reunion from Aden, and on messages to all parts
of China and Japan from Hong Kong, Shanghai, or
Nagasaki, one shilling and sixpence in addition to
the rates to those stations.

Telegrams for America via Java Cable.

In addition to London rates (£9 8s. 6d. for 20 words
or less via Melbourne, or £9 11s. 6d. via Sydney,
and after 20 words, half rates), the following rates
will be charged on messages of ten (10) words to the
under-mentioned places, names and addresses being
counted and charged for :--

To New York, £2, and 4s. for each extra word.
To San Francisco, £2 12s. 6d., and 5s. 3d. for each
extra word.
To Havana (Cuba), £3 2s. 6d., and 6s. for each
extra word.
To Kingston (Jamaica), £3 17s. 6d., and 7s. 3d. for
each extra word.

NOTE.—In addition to the above rates, all Telegrams pre-
sented for transmission will be charged with the New Zealand
Rates.

I, WILLIAM COTTERELL, Licentiate of the Royal
College of Physicians, Edinburgh; Licentiate
in Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh;
Licentiate in Medicine and Surgery, Royal College
of Physicians, Edinburgh; and Licentiate, Society
of Apothecaries, London; Fellow of the Obstetric
Society of London; Special Certificates in Medicine
and Surgery; late House Physician, Charing Cross
Hospital, London; and late Assistant Pathological
Surgeon, Charing Cross Hospital School of Medicine,
&c., &c., now residing in Dunedin, do hereby give
notice that I intend to apply to you on the 6th day
of December, 1872, to have my name placed on the
Register of Medical Practitioners in the Colony of
New Zealand; and I have deposited my Diplomas
along with this in your office for public inspection, in
terms of "The Medical Practitioners Act, 1869."

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the several parcels
of land hereinafter described will be brought
under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat in the meantime be lodged for-
bidding the same.

JOHN BECKETT FIELDER, of Napier, Gentle-
man (Attorney for SMITH THOMAS GREEN-
WELL, of Windsor, New South Wales, Draper),
Applicant.—1 rood, being Town Section 241, Town
of Napier.

DANIEL WOODS, of Napier, Settler, Applicant.
—12 perches, being part of Town Section 288, Town
of Napier. Commencing at a point in Hastings
Street 32 feet in a southerly direction from the
junction of Raffles Street and Hastings Street; thence
easterly 82 feet 6 inches; thence southerly 40 feet;
thence westerly and northerly to the commencing
point, and forming a rectangular block. (C. Lindsay

Caveat in each case must be lodged within one
calendar month after the date of the gazetting of this
notice.

Diagrams may be inspected at this office.
