has not been advised to exercise his power of disal-
lowance with respect to it.

WHEREAS on or about the night of the 19th
August, 1872, some evil-disposed person or
persons bored holes in the barge "Mystery," then
lying near the Breakwater in Port Lyttelton, which
caused the said barge to sink.

Notice is hereby given, that a Reward of One
Hundred Pounds will be paid to any person who will
give such information as will lead to the conviction
of the person or persons by whom the holes were
bored in the aforesaid barge "Mystery;" and
Notice is hereby further given, that His Excel-
lency the Governor will grant a free pardon to any
person implicated, not being the principal offender,
who will give the required information.

Thomas Jenkins—Date of desertion, 21st August,
1872; rating, boy; exact date of birth, 1st May,
1855; where born, England; height, 5 feet 5 inches;
hair, dark brown; eyes, blue.

Richard Langley—Date of desertion, 4th October,
1872; rating, A.B.; exact date of birth, 7th March,
1844; where born, Hants; height, 5 feet 4 inches;
hair, dark; eyes, dark; all marks on person, shaved.

Stephen Bray—Date of desertion, 4th October,
1872; rating, A.B.; exact date of birth, 20th Novem-
ber, 1853; where born, London; height, 5 feet 7
inches; hair, sandy; eyes, blue; all marks on person,
no whiskers.

Arthur Allen—Date of desertion, 4th October,
1872; rating, boy; exact date of birth, 24th July,
1854; where born, Woolwich; height, 5 feet 7 inches;
hair, light brown; eyes, gray; all marks on person,
deep-sunk eyes, long legs, rolls in walking.

A Reward of Three Pounds will be given for the
apprehension of each of the above-named Deserters.
