Zealand Gazette, No. 65, of the 11th December,
1871, it is requested that for the future all corre-
spondence connected with the administration of Public
Works in the Middle Island may be addressed to the
Public Works Office, Wellington.

WAIKATO RIVER.

Customs Department (Marine Branch),
Wellington, 23rd September, 1872.

WITH reference to Notice No. 14, 9th September,
1871, respecting the Leading Beacons at Port
Waikato, Notice is hereby given, that these Beacons
have been re-erected by the Master of the Govern-
ment steamer "Luna," who reports of them as fol-
lows:-They are on the North bank, near the
entrance; are about 25 feet high, and about 200
yards apart; they are painted white, and when
brought in line bearing N.E. by E. will lead over the
deepest part of the Bar with not less than 10 feet at
low water springs.
